Anybody planning on getting one of these?

Seems like a sweet gun.

waiting for pricing... which I don't think will be too 'user friendly' :(

$1300 is what I'm seeing, or is that just vapor-price?

i've been trying to decide if I want that, or the new fnh that is coming out this year also. the other half would have a heartatack if I got both so I have to choose one or the other. i'm leaning to the fs2000, because I have the ps90 already and it has been nothing but reliable and fun to shoot.

That is for the base model. The model in your picture is there tactical and retails for $1700.

I am not going to get either the Sig 556 or the FN FS2000. I was planning on getting the FS2000 until I read this month's American Rifleman--some idiot at FN forgot to put a last-round hold-open device on the damn thing. No thanks as over $2K. As for the 556, look closely at it...it is essentially a piston upper on an AR lower but without the myriad of spare/custom parts available for the AR platform. Better to stick your money into ammo and training than the next new toy. I predict that the Colt LE1020 and HK416 piston uppers will soon be available to the public (one way or another), and I'll just wait.

I found the pictures in this month's American Rifleman of the FN SCAR Heavy and Light were very interesting.

The SCAR would be sweet if they make it civi legal.

I am with you on the SCAR, Gman.
That system has been adopted by SOCOM which means spare parts will ultimately be much more availalbe and affordable than Sig components. When THAT system becomes civy avail., I will own both the L and H variants. It will probably mean a sad but inevitable retirement for my ARs.

AR's will always have a place for fun paper shooting.

They probably said the same thing about the musket. "Always" is an awfully long time. [poke]

As always it looks interesting but with the on set of piston uppers from several manufacturers for the AR platform, I'll wait.

The new DPMS and Rock River .308 carbines on the other hand... for $500-$700 less and in .308, don't see where it makes much sense to go for a wizbang itteration of the vernerable M4forgeries... just read a review on the DPMS and it and the RRA are using commonly available AR15 lowers. Apparently the DPMS needs a trigger job in a big way out of the box, but still. Looks like the DPMS will be right about $1200 and the RRA comes in at about 1k .. both prices are MSRP, so we might see a few bills lower. Doubt that on the RRA... but still, .308 in a M4 form factor, what ever will I do!?!?!

Jim, I have not met you but I already like you. I have two guns on consignment at Jensen's just to use the money to buy more suppressors.
