Just found out I'm moving to Colorado Springs 1 year from now to work in the MDA. I didn't even know what that was until I googled that. Anyway, what do I need to know? I'm coming with sh*tload of guns to include class 3 and I'm pretty sure that Colorado doesn't restrict anything or require registration but don't know for sure. Other than the guns what do I need to know?

I'm Army and bouncing around a bit. Left FT Benning, GA a year ago; going for my MBA at Pittsburgh, PA; working over the summer break at Warren, MI. I've been out to FT Carson for work a couple times but only a week at a time.

Welcome.

I can't help you with your "Class 3" (NFA) items, but as far as the other items, no, you do not have to register anything.

So, you'll be working with the MDA? If they place you out @ Schriever AFB, you'll be working right across the street from me.

No restrictions for your NFA stuff.

No auto knives though.

Biggest problem you're going to have with your guns is finding places to shoot them ... there really is a dirth of good ranges open to the public out here.

Other than that you're moving to a pretty doggone gun friendly place (and if you want to add to your class III goodies, the local sheriff is real good about signing off on form 4s).
