I only saw elk as well. I didn't draw and wasn't expecting to. Archery hunting for me this year. Maybe I will pick up a leftover cow tag for rifle season

Just noticed that I screwed up in my unit selection. I meant to select unit 61 to get a preference point and intended to hunt in another unit with an otc tag. I just noticed that I got a tag for bull elk 1st season unit 62, I wonder if I have any options now. Guess I need to contact the DOW. I know I can turn the tag in and keep the point, just not sure if I can still get an over the counter tag then.

Only seeing elk up but at the bottom where it shows your current points I have a 0 in the deer column. I had 1 point left from last year think that means I got it?

It showed something weird when I looked at it. Pref points BEFORE draw. Usually it shows points after

Well I got my archery deer tag for private land. Can't wait cause I got some bad ass private land with LOTS AND LOTS of white tail. Owners are begging for me to get rid of some!!!!

And the best thing is its only 40 minutes from my house!!!

Oh well should be able to get a doe they make great freezer meat so all is well.

I wonder if Dept of Corrections would get grumpy if I shot a doe off their front lawn?:)

That is no bullshit!! The laws are a nightmare; the GMU's are way over complicated. Plus the point system is complete nonsense. I have talked to guys who work at the DOW who "know" the system and the get shut out on hunting all the time. Draw only for deer is a flipping joke. When I was a kid a deer tag was gift with purchase when you bought anything at the sporting goods/hardware store. not being able to grad a deer tag over the counter is RETARDED!!![Rant1]

Don't even get me going on the DOW web site. It sucks beyond reason
