I have a buddy that is moving to Spokane Washington. Does anyone know if there are any particular laws or restrictions he should be aware of, or maybe were we can find the local laws there?

Thanks all.

Washington is pretty friendly with gun laws, and are a shall issue state. They don't honour our CCW though, unless you have a Utah one too

They do have some restrictions about SBR and automatics I believe

Ok, cool. Thanks Ghetto.

He doesnt have anything crazy just some standard weapons, but I just wanted to do some checking for him to make sure that state is not like CA or IL...'cause that would suck

www.opencarry.org (http://www.opencarry.org) should have a map and links to local gun law resources.

Looks like they do have some NFA restrictions. Is it Oregon or Washington where you can own a suppressor, but can not legally shoot it in that state? It's one of those states, and owners just go next door to the other state to shoot them.

Actually, I think they might have just recently changed that, or are working on changing it.

If I remember correctly, CCW permits were only $65 for 5 years. He does need to have proof of training though. Any training he rec'd here should suffice. There are soome good ranges there in WA, lots if friendly shooters.

Haven't done a lot of research but a friend of mine just moved here from there. He told me that they can't conceal in a car like we can in Colorado unless they have a permit. Not exactly sure if that's true or not but that is what I have been told.

It was repealed this year. Suppressors are OK.

Yes, I have a friend up there who worked on that.

I had a CCW in WA when I went to college up there in the early 90s.

The Spokane/Coeur D'Lene, Idaho area is a nice place!

Ok

You mean crazy like a 1911, or maybe a 10/22 or something really wacko like a pump shotgun.

It doesn't help for fellow gun enthusiasts besmirch some other segment of shooters.

If this is meant to be derogatory or rude, get over it.

I meant he doesnt have any full auto SAW M249's or grenade launchers

I am a very pro gun owner so get over yourself

In WA you cannot own a part which is designed to work in a machine gun. I.E. ak parts kits you need to ditch the stock trigger pack, you can't have hk g3 trigger packs with the auto sear still in it etc

CCW as stated, no mag limits, nfa as stated (no SBR/SBS/FA supressors ok)
