When I was at Ft Benning (85) I went to a KKK picnic. Did not know it since I was invited by a co-worker at the time. Took me about 2 hours to figure out what was going on. ;)

yeah, if you resemble a Caucasian and know a local you will get invited eventually.

Its Like going downtown Denver, you dont want to, but eventually you are either tricked into it or taken by force.

I don't know how to feel about that, on the one hand Westboro deserves a slow painful death from a massive amount of fire ants; but the KKK are an awful, depraved group... but they support our troops and keep these Westboro freaks away. Torn here really.

I've lived in the Southern States for most of the last 20 years (Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee), and I've seen more KKK activity here in Colorado. None of the southern states where I lived ever had an international airport named after a high ranking member of the Klan (Benjamin F. Stapleton), nor do they seem to have quite the number of survivalists, white supremest organizations or end of worlders...

But they do make up for it with crack pot churches, crooked politicians (I think Pena went to the Louisiana school), and their misplaced pride in their roll in the war of northern aggression...

Watching this church and the KKK is like watching a fight between the Taliban and the al Qaeda... I just don't know who to root for....

My guess is that the KKK is just trying get some attention and this is the best way their little brains could think of.

I saw more KKK activity in OH then I ever saw in TX.

It seems like that might be coming back, but not the KKK but groups like Nortenos and MS-13... At least the KKK, Aryan Nation, Volksfront, etc don't shoot me because I'm white. Still does't make them any better, but if I had to pick a side I'd rather the guys who support our troops than some group of hoodlums who commit crimes because they're "cool."
