I live in the same area. I think the problem is finding a place up here where you can discharge a firearm outside city limits. Plus most of the property up here is probably privately owned. I would think that you'd probably have to find some place quite a bit East. [Beer]

Good places to shoot prairie dogs are difficult to find. Most people are not willing to give up their spots to just anybody.

Would be fun to get a group shoot together! I have seen a few smaller towns at the grasslands, but most of my spots have dried up do to lost leases, desease and 223's.

Finding a good spot normally takes a lot of work. Then, to make it even harder, what may have been a good spot last year could be nothing this year, over shooting, plague, etc.

So yes, the guys that have done a lot of hard work to develop a spot are a bit reluctant to post that information for the world to see. I will share locations with my closest friends who reciprocate and share their spots with me. It has to be a two way street.

My suggestion would be to do like I do and head out to the eastern plains and start looking for pastures that have targets. Then go knock on a door and see if you can get permission to shoot. Rarely am I ever turned down.

Good luck.

BTW, I have been party to some great group hunts, particularly in central Wyoming.

I'm going to head out and try some places near Ft. Morgan next weekend. I'll give as good a report as I can. Fingers crossed
