Sling Mounted on Bipod

So I'd like to go to the Raton rifle matches this year, they make you carry the rifle. So I put a sling on the rifle and the forward mount is on the bipod, which once its on your shoulder the bipod tends to dig into my shoulder. I think after a days worth of hiking and carrying it will probably suck. What slings are people using? And I'll have a back pack on also.

If it is a padded sling, reverse it so that it is muzzle down so the bipod is not biting into your shoulder and put a plastic muzzle cap on the end of the barrel. Or for a military issue type sling, just carry muzzle down. Use a bright color muzzle cap instead of black so you don't forget it is there and shoot through it.
