View Full Version : what to do ???
ok so i have never had this happen before . i bought a gun from the gun show (a real nice tec-9 ) took it to the range , fill it with rounds , load it up , get on target and go to pull the trigger expecting the bang of a 9mm but all i got was cilck .. damn .... put another round in and click ....[Rant1] ok maybe the reloads are bad ???? so i take the rounds out of the tec and start to bang away with the pistol ...nope not the ammo . inspect the tec again and yep im the dumbass that just bought a gun with no firing pin WTF[Rant2]
so what do i do about it ?right now im lookin for the guys card to call him and see if he will be a stand up guy about it .
ok so the question is what should i say to the guy and what do ask , my money back or the repair ?? also is it ok to ask such things from a gun show dealer (he has his ffl )
Hopefully he pulled it just for safety reasons. Definately find the card and call and hopefully he'll treat you right, otherwise start shopping for a replacement. How expensive can they be?
Best of luck though.

Hell yes is acceptable to expect this guy to sell you a gun that's operational unless he advertised it as inoperable from the start. Anyone with an ffl is a firearms dealer.
Now do a feedback on this assalope in the feedback session.
Was it bnib? Although it's not acceptable for a merchant to not be up front with what they're selling, you should still ask a few questions before handing over your money. Hopefully it was just an honest mistake (given the somewhat recent shooting at a tanner table).
same thing happened to me. got ripped off at a gun show, and I'll never go back.

What kind of douche takes the fp out and not put it back? Is it a libtard campaign to stop the ability to fire? I could see a bunch of douchy liberals going around stealing firing pins.

I would definitely give the guy a chance to make it right, no harm in contacting him if you have an incomplete firearm. As mentioned already, maybe just a safety manouver never corrected.
What should a guy expect to pay for a tec-9 these days??
PM me only if it is convenient for you.

Numrich lists them for $25.
The two loudest sounds in firearms, a click when it should have gone bang and a bang when it should have gone click.
Good Luck.

Easy fix as long as we can find a firing pin Alex. Chances are it has the nose broken off from dry firing.. The pistol cocks ok and you get the audible click on pulling the trigger correct?
If so then it as above. If we can't find a FP I can put another nose on what is there. If the firing pin was missing completely then the pistol would not cock at all. No biggie.
Contact the seller and advise them of the problem. Chances are you will get either: "I just shot it last weekend, you must have done something to it" or "as is-where is, your problem".
If you get a "Jeez, I wasn't aware of that and I'm sorry, I took it in on trade the other day and didn't check it out real thorough" you have a stand up dealer. I would expect the former however.
Legally a dealer is under no obligation that a used firearm is operational.
From an integrity standpoint however you are only as good as your word.
