It specifically says in the article it wasn't over defaulted student loans.

The re-wrote the store then. The original one stated that it was.
What is a school doing with a SWAT team? Seem a little excessive to me for "student loan fraud" and the like?

Related to one of these:
OIG is a semi-independent branch of the education department that executes warrants for criminal offenses such as student aid fraud, embezzlement of federal aid and bribery, according to Hamilton. The agency serves 30 to 35 search warrants a year.

Yeah, I'm not agreeing with it but at least its not over student loans.
Police kick in doors for drugs, too.

Welcome to the beautiful country of United Police States. Formerly the greatest country in the world. How we have perverted the founding fathers vision.

There are two problems here:
1) A Swat team is absolutely not necessary when executing a search warrant for a non-violent offender.
2) Since I have no criminal record with no expectation of police coming to my home, I would consider people braking down my door in the middle of the night as intruders and likely people would be shot in the process.

If claymores were legal...I'd set one up at my front door with a drop switch. There is no excuse for kicking down doors. I can't wait til they accidently kill a Congressman or a Federal Judge, then they will change their "laws".

Ya know what. I am HOPING they had a really good reason and if they did these government cocksuckers best start sharing.
I know of a man, first hand not hearsay, here in Denver that is committing education loan fraud with impunity. He has for two semesters gotten school loans with absolutely no intentions of paying them back. He did it for a fuckin' bus pass, cash and the only thing he has bought has been drugs and he now has a motorized scooter. He brags about it. He knows it will be years before "they" catch up with him. He could care less.
Between prison, loan fraud and various social programs he has cost society hundreds of thousands of dollars and laughs about it. This is true and it happens every day. He is of NO USE to society. He does nothing daily except causes trouble. He has been a ganbanger and has tats all over to prove it. These people and their behaviors are bullshit and I am fucking sick and tired of my taxes being raised to supports POS's like this. Put them to work or let them die. I did not say kill them but don't feed them. Nature will take its course.

As they say, put up or...
I have no way of knowing whether they will do anything about your fraud allegation, but I will bet you a pay check that nothing will happen if all you do is rant to us about it on this board.
Fraud is a fancy way of saying theft. I dislike thieves. If you see it, do something about it or tell someone who might do something about it. The old saying is still true; "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." (Edmund Burke)
P.S. Not every government employee is a cocksucker. Just thought you might like to know. [Coffee]
What are you supposed to be looking for with a search warrant when you are investigating fraud? Income statements?

Evidence. It comes in really tiny boxes that can be hidden almost anywhere. If you have any, please put it on your porch so we don't have to knock on your door with our battering ram [ROFL1]

Evidence...it always helps a case...
According to many members on here the police cannot be trusted so the evidence helps the case so the trial doesn't have to be just about the officer's testimony only

Of course evidence, but what kind of evidence? To Do List that includes a list item of "defraud local college?" A college ruled note book with every page full of the practiced forged signature? How to Commit Fraud and Get Away With it! For Dummies on the book shelf?
Realistically, maybe a computer full of internet history looking up fraud techniques.

I think all they want are your notes from your classes to prove you were attending...

I heard a federal judge got roughed up on Easter because the police served a warrant to a wrong home. Ope just a Florida circuit judge: http://jonathanturley.org/2011/04/28/florida-police-mistakingly-raid-judges-home-and-order-family-out-of-house-at-gunpoint-during-easter-dinner/

Lots of threads around here on what is costing hard working, legal gun owning, American citizens. Meth heads, cocaine freaks, non working POS's and fraud by the rich and the poor... Gee guys and gurls, does anyone think that this is something new...????????

Not trying to pick on you, but it seems odd that you are bound by certain laws not to report criminal acts to law enforcement? But at the same time, you can post a generic rant about someone you have first hand knowledge of committing a fraud on a public forum.
If you were bound by patient/physician or clergy confidentiality, it would seem to me that you wouldn't be on CO-AR15 posting about possible criminal activity.
We all must answer to our conscience and any other higher authority we recognize. I respect your integrity and your obligations.

No names, times, places, nothing specific. No college, no school mentioned, therefore no breech. I can talk all day about as long as names are not mentioned. Even a priest can talk about women confessing BJ's as long as he don't say who.... Nuthin' complicated about that,,,, other than the fact this POS and many others are getting doing it and costing ME tax money. I cannot say us , cuz I don't know if you pay taxes...

Read the search warrant posted on the news website. it lists what they want to search for in it. It will answer your question.

It is not "fraud" if he was enrolled in university when he applied for the loan. MANY students apply for loans when tuition is covered by financial aid in order to cover food, rent, vehicle expenses, or whatever they want to spend that money on. If you are a student, you can apply for these loans. You do not even need to complete the semester and can skip all the classes you want, as long as you pay your tuition and attend class for a few weeks.
It would be fraud if he was not enrolled or used a fake name or SSN when he applied for them. He is obligated to repay those loans, which will never expire and cannot be discharged in bankruptcy. They will garnish his wages, bank accounts, income tax refunds, and Social Security/SSD/SSI to get that money back -- with fees and interest. That ain't free welfare money.
