Yes. Pun intended.
I finally placed my order yesterday for my entry into the world of firearm ownership. Tried to give my local shop the business but a savings of over $100 just on the gun alone (not to mention they didn't have it in stock) I went with Buds Guns for the purchase.
I'm hoping it gets here this week but it's probably not till next. I'll post an actual photo when it arrives (not that any of you haven't seen a 229 before)

sweet!
sigs are great shooters. Factory mags are a lil bit on the pricey side, but oh well, youre paying for quality.
May i suggest IDPA in the near future? I bet you would enjoy it with that gun.

The package from Buds came with 3 total magazines. Didn't mention if they are OEM Sig but I guess I'll find out soon.
IDPA looks like a good place to start. I've seen a couple of local listings for basic / intro pistol classes and I'm going to take one ASAP. Trouble is most are on Saturdays and sadly I work. Green Mountain Guns has one that runs on wends, which would be easier to try and get off for.

I finally placed my order yesterday for my entry into the world of firearm ownership.Welcome to the world of being a firearms owner!
And on that note, please take the time to educate yourself with firearms safety.
In which caliber?
I have a .40 and .357 barrel for mine. I like both and the mags handle both. Very solid pistol and it is very nice for staging the trigger on time split strings of fire. Once you get past the price, Sig makes some great weapons.
Welcome to another proud owner!!!!! Warning they are more addictive than tattoos!!!!![Help]

I went with the 9mm package. I spent a lot of time with the XDM and the 226 a few weeks ago and was torn. Over the weekend the range had added the 229 .40 SW and after about 150 rounds through the gun I knew it was the one.
The size of the XDM I liked and the feel of the 226 which I loved.
I wish I could have seen/held/fired the USP and USP Compact but oh well. Maybe that will be number 2. I don't even have number 1 and I'm already thinking about number 2.
Planning on safety and training classes in the very near future
Unlike some other hobbies, I don't think this is one that should be "self taught"
