Anybody have a reccomended shop in the Springs? Looking to have a flash hider pinned and welded for my AR build as well as a barrel un-plugged on an old lever action 30-30. I know theres a shop list on here but i'd like to see who comes reccomended.
Thanks
Matt

Matt - contact Hickman Rifles for starters.
I know many here have used them (including me) with good results.
They're off of Platte, not too far from the mall.

Thx - Ill give them a ring
Make sure you ask for a time frame and make 'em stick to it. They said they'd do some work for me and it wouldn't take but a day or two... a month later I finally went and got my stuff back from them and nothing had been done.... Just a headsup, be prepared to wait.
I had a good experience with Hickman (but wasn't expecting it to be done in a couple of days).

I stopped by there and was quoted a MINIMUM of $65 + extras and they couldnt give me a time frame for completion. Also felt like i was getting the "your wasting my time im talking to my buddies" attitude. Needless to say i probably wont be letting them grace me with thier presence any time in the near future.
On a side note I called RAR Guns in C-Rock, spoke with Anthony for a solid 30 minutes and got a wealth of information to help me with build number one. His price was MUCH more reasonable and his attitude was echelons better. I'm looking forward to the 45 minute drive to his shop and to giving him my future business. +1 for RAR Guns

Also felt like i was getting the "your wasting my time im talking to my buddies" attitude. In the retail gun business? No way! Just Kidding.
Try Bowers if you can make it up to the Metro area, they rule!
Hickman did good by me but so did Lockburned in Black Forest

If you feel like a leisurely drive a lil further north we can get you taken care of. Threading and pinning is a specialty here.

The guys at specialty sports recommended Todd Lockburner as a good 'smith.
I never went there since I now work at a shop, and can do most everything myself, but I still have is phone # if you're interested.
Anyone know if Pete H. still around?
He pinned and welded one for me a couple years ago, turned it nice and wasn't time consuming or expensive. I don't recall why he disappeared from the forum, if it is something "bad" don't tell me.

BP Tactical well worth the short drive up from C.S. You won't regret it.
