View Full Version : Meth Face
Had a public interaction this week where this addiction was very evident (specifics don't matter), still bugging the shit outta me for some reason.
Continues to amaze me how intensely meth fucks-up people's faces and physical health overall. Nasty-lookin' souls ain't they? I'd hate to have to manage an addiction where I'm standing in-front of mirror over a somewhat short period of time just "watching myself literally rot" and not being able to do anything about it.
That is all.

yep, i have a lot of friends that have had meth problems, and I've seen that a lot. Pretty horrible. I've dealt with addiction myself, so I know first hand how horrible and tough it can be.
Ever notice how tobacco smoking messes up people's skin? You can usually spot a heavy smoker a mile away from their brown, leathery skin. Seems to really affect women. At least it looks that way to me, maybe I'm wrong....

Worst thing you could put in your body, look up 'faces of meth' and watch some of the slideshows, literally 6 months later people look like walking dead after some hardcore meth use.
The road to recovery from stuff like that is rough. I know a couple of people who have been addicted by meth, some by coke, others, like me, cigarettes. The Partnership for Drug Free America has published some stuff that shows what happens to heroin, cocaine, and meth users over the course of use and then cleaning up.

he was my junior high counselor, and obviously that message from him to me didn't work out too well [LOL]

I went to high school in Casper, WY which has a huge meth problem. It was rough watching some of my friends/acquaintances degrade as they started using.

You had Mr. Lackey? Where did you go to Jr High? I graduated from Evergreen- same school as Trey.

No kidding? Wow, small world... what year did you graduate from EHS? I was '03... yes I'm young. Was Luckich there while you attended? Hard to miss, he's the basis for Mr. Garrison.

I graduated in 97.
Yep, I had him as a teacher, he's not the inspiration for Garrison though. When it first came on, I was pretty sure he was the inspiration for it, but there was a teacher back in park county who used a puppet to help him teach, so it's a mixture of that and a few other people.
All i know: he hated my ass. I failed his classes, and he didn't like me

Oh really? He liked me, mainly because he lived behind my grandparents and dad back in the day. One of my friends who is on the sheriff's department used to always say "Nice guy, I just don't approve of his lifestyle choice." Hmmm, hinting at something are we?
Looks like we kinda hijacked this thread a bit... oops [Tooth]

Couldn't stand me, hehe.
I was a shithead of a kid though; we were the "cool" hardcore kids, so we did whatever we wanted: just drank, skipped class, got in fights, etc.
I was a real shit. Had a lot of fun though. I worked at the movie theatre in bergen park too, so I had a fun cake job.
And sorry OP

Like so many, you now have left the nice serene mountains to go dwell in the city... but the cost of living up here has risen, and with the housing market going back up it won't get any easier. I was friends with the original owner of the BP Cinema, although it was so long ago I don't remember his name. 1st Movie I saw there was the grand opening when they played D2-The Mighty Ducks.

Wasn't it Howie or something? There were three owners: Hayden Sillick (think so), and two other guys
It was the builder/owner guy, I went to school with his son, Adam. I can't for the life of me remember his last name. But man that was back before the youngins took over and made that place the best spot for Jeffco to sit and write marijuana tickets.

We had a close friend go through meth. Or should I say it went through her.
Very sad, she was a beautiful Indian (feather not the dot) girl who was an awesome mom to her kids. She ended up getting divorced and lost her kids and then hooked up with some tweekers and it went downhill from there.
In 4 years she went from a beautiful caring person to a hollow shell that became very ugly, inside and out. It got to where you couldn't even hold a coherent conversation with her, her thought process went about 50 different directions.
We haven't seen her for about 5 years, last we heard she was HIV positive, either from sharing a needle or getting turned out by the tweeks for money.
Very sad.
There used to be government programs to help addicts get off drugs by helping them get jobs. The government (us) would pay part of the wages of the recovering addicts. I used to go to a sandwich shop that was part of the program. I had to quit going there because a sandwich maker/employee would smile a meth mouth smile and I would lose my appetite. If they kept their mouth shut I was OK but that smile was a killer. It was too bad because it looked like they were getting their life turned around. I found out latter we were paying to get their teeth fixed as part of the rehab program.

Whenever I see the methproject billboards around town, all I can think is "zombies"...though one of them made me say "you got a purty mouth" out loud and got me some wierd looks from the wife.
meth = zombies.
very nasty stuff. Just another reason I stay away from any and all drugs. the most I will take is advil or tylenol or something if i have a headache. It blows me away how many people look to drugs or even over the counter medicine or medication for anything and everything.

Meth is one of those things like the Holocaust and liberals that I wish we could dis-invent.
I don't care if somebody burns a little green or has a beer or two now and then but crap like coke, heroin and meth are so very destructive. I could see legalizing pot but when I hear these idiots that say all drugs should be legalized I just am amazed. They obviously have never seen the firsthand results of addiction.
Back when the meth houses started popping up everyplace there was an old gent and his wife that had a nice little house in my neighborhood. I would always see him out and about when I was walking the dog or going for a run and we would chat a little. One day I noticed he had a for sale sign on the house, he and the Mrs wanted to move to Montana. He had a hard time selling. And they had bought a place in Montana so they ended up renting the place out. About 4 months later he was out front with a restoration company stripping the house. He said the renters had been cooking meth so they had to gut the place to the studs.
Poor old guy was about in tears, the house had been paid off but he had to refinance it to pay for the mitigation and his insurance didn't cover it for whatever.
I really felt bad for him and that is another cost of the crap.
You want to do that kind of crap do society a favor and just shoot yourself..........
I know people that used to have a meth addiction. I have no idea how often they do it now, because I avoid them at all costs. I still think the war on drugs is bs though.

And if the walls/etc. are viewed that contaminated and toxic, think about what's going into our water supply when they dump all the acid and other chems down the drain [Rant1]

You would be amazed how much of the waste products end up on the side of the highways. We have found complete mobile labs that have been discarded not to mention the "death bags", corroded propane bottles, the coffee filters and all the other crap.
We had two rest stop workers find death bags and not realizing what they were opened them and permanently damaged their lungs.
Phosgene gas-nasty stuff

That is some scary stuff. I have family who are DPD and Fire fighters, it pisses me off that they find kids in these places. I'm less forgiving when that happens, just shoot these people, thats what they deserve.
I say this as a person who has seen many different people struggle with addiction. When you jack yourself up, I careless. When you messup your kids or someone else's kids it should be a hefty penalty.
