Did some shootin today....

....with a spray can that is!!!

I have been wanting to paint this rifle for quite some time now so I finally said screw it and I did it. I wanted the paint to be light and have a somewhat worn look, so the paint is thin but mostly covered.

That came out pretty damn good, nice job!
What did you use on it?

I used Krylon Fusion ultra flat Camo paint on it.

I really dig the way it came out. Its the perfect beater gun and thats what I wanted it to look like.

What about the ACOG?

Does only the end of the fibre optic need to be protected?

I did mask off the fiber optic on the Acog, I dont know if it is important or not but figured I would mask it anyway.

I added a FDE Ergo grip, and FDE enhanced trigger guard and some FDE ladder rails.

I will try and get some more pics today

your front/rear MBUS's are backwards on the rail, if you didnt already notice.

Anyhow, I like how it turned out! great job!

Thanks leatherneck!!

The beauty of the MBUS is they are a universal mount and there really is no wrong or right way to mount them. They are there more for looks than anything really, with the short site radius they offer as they sit they wouldnt be very helpful anyway...lol

Thanks again, took it out yesterday and I was hitting a 12"X12" steel plate at 500 yards with it again!! Not to shabby out of a 14.5" barrel.

I wish I had the balls to do something like that to one of mine. How about splashing on a little black here and there for a sort of "urban camo" look?

I wish Magpul would offer their furniture in a gray color.

Oops... that's FDE? I thought it was a gray color. [Coffee]

Have you seen their foliage green?

Yep. A little too "green" for me to call it gray. I might photoshop something to show you what I had in mind.

Talkin' a bit more 'charcoal'?

Yep. Or maybe more of a "battleship" gray. [Coffee]

Eh, its just a gun... a piece of metal that can be replaced or if you really dont like it strip it all of and re coat it all.

I like the way it came out, it looks pretty dang good for a beater gun IMO.

I like the solid color of and dont really want to put anyother colors on it. In time I'm sure some of this paint will wear off and there will be some black showing through.

I guess I am just lazy. Stripping it all off would be way too involved if I didn't like the way it turned out. [Coffee]

I like the "beater" look myself but I don't have the balls either to do it.

The steel plate, is it one of the ones you got from me?

Yep the steel plates I got from you. They are holding up ok still. They do pretty good with everything but the 7mm and the 30-06, those leave a mark!!

Yep it would be a lot of work, but could be done I suppose if you dont like it. In my case I love it!!

Man that looks sweet. I've got an M4 with all the Magpul FDE goodies so I'm partial to FDE. As far as magazines go, you using Magpul FDE mags or did you paint some of your own while you did your AR?
