Need help want to change handguards ar-10

Plenty of experience with ar-15 , but new to the ar-10. I want to change from a free float hand guard to a traditional m4 style not sure if parts interchange between 10 and 15. I ordered a barrel nut and delta ring ( from armalite)but now I'm not sure if they will fit my dpms style upper any wisdom would be appreciated thanks

Why change from a free float? Most people do the opposite since free float is better...

Upper parts between an AR15 and AR 10 DO NOT interchange. Also Armalite parts fit Armalite and DPMS parts fit DPMS. 10 components tend to be proprietary.
Also your AR 15 tools will not work.
Common parts that interchange between a 15 and a 10 are fire control components(hammer springs are different), most lower parts such as detents and springs, pistol grips and buttstocks.
