Acceptance of Non-AR15 Guys

I've been a member here for quite some time and obviously haven't posted as much as I could.

My question is how accepting is the board of members that don't own or shoot ARs?

I'd like to go to some of the get togethers but I think it would feel weird to show up with my SKS and my AK when everyone else is running ARs.

Anyways, I just wanted your thoughts and to kind of introduce myself.

If You like to shoot and and talk with other's about this here hobby, then Your more than welcome to show up. We'd be happy to have You. We pretty much shoot anything thats shootable.

Plenty of us AK owners and tons of other non-AR based weapons show up. Hell half the time it's better than going to the gun store!

Yep, I have many more AK's than AR's.

Felow non-AR newb here and I just crashed the off-month North Side shoot last weekend. Got no static, had a good time, met nice folks and got to shoot some cool guns. I'll probably try to go to the August shoot w/ my lowly .357 too, whether or not I've got anything else to shoot by then.

I'd like to have one but it's more of a toy rather than a tool like my other firearms.

That's a preference, both of mine are tools, much like my AK and my Remmy 700 .. just depends on how you train with them and look at their use.

You are right, toy or tool is dependent on the owner's preference and preparations.
