My wife and 7 year old son are sitting on the couch reading yesturday. I come up and hand my wife $250 cash to pay for a credit card charge of ammunition I placed earlier in the day.

My wife says "$250, how much ammo did you buy?"

I reply "800 rounds for prarie dog shooting."

My son chimes in with "Only 800 rounds? We can shoot that up in one afternoon!"

My wife just shakes her head and goes back to reading. Sometimes I think it is hard for her being in a house with three boys (me included). I think my son might have to spend his B-day money on more ammo!

At least you know you're raising him right!

That's awesome. My 7 year old is learning howto shoot now. I just need to get him a decent gun.

My 8 yr old got to shoot my childhood .22 the other day. It's a Glenfield-Marlin Model 60. He takes to it much better than I did.

We have that exact gun (used by my daughter), and a Remington Speedmaster that's as old as me for the son. Karl.

This is one of the guns I was looking at. I've also been looking at various .22 cal. rifles.

The only one that I think is better is the CZ Scout because a regular mag can be used when the kid can handle more than a single shot.
