View Full Version : I know it's not for everyone
I am buying a Taurus pt1911 with gold highlights in 38super. So far my boy and some guys at work say it's not for them. But I like it anyways. Be honest I can take it. http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn114/4gunfun/101473611.jpg http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn114/4gunfun/101473621.jpg
"Bling" it has.
If it shoots well, who cares?

If you like it, that is all that matters. Not my cup of tea in style or brand.

If I could fin one in 45 ACP I'd buy me one and hang it in the livingroom.

Not my cup of tea doesn't scratch the surface but thankfully my opinion shouldn't me jack to you.
Hope it shoots well and you enjoy it.
The fact that some of us don't find the style to our taste shouldn't bring you down. If the pistol works for you and you like it, pay no mind. If it doesn't work well, trade it for something that does.

I had a pt1911 in 45 acp and really liked it. I have a Llama 1911 style in 38 super all ready, just moving up a notch like Jerry did. My boy turns 21 in Sept. I think he will enjoy the Llama. I reload for it too so we can work up some hotter loads for it. What's all the cup of tea crap [ROFL1]

CDNN has been blowing out the plain ones for $399. I keep wanting to get one.
That Llama served me well and it may not win a popularity contest but it did get me hooked.[Coffee]When I was looking for one the Bling-Bling ones were all that buds gun shop had.
I do not think it looks too bad.
Why does this come to mind?

Seriously, if you like it and want it.... go for it. If the day ever comes you decide to sell it.... good luck. [Coffee]
Are you kidding...he could probably take that thing down the the Fax and double his money[ROFL1]
Now that's some funny stuff. Jerry, I kept looking at the Bling bling at buds too then they were gone. :( So I found this gold Taurus on gunbroker :) My next one might be this one. http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn114/4gunfun/Toilet-seat-AK-471.jpg

Don't let anyone talk you out of a gun if you like it.
Taurus has done the gold accented pieces for a long time and frankly the one you linked is tame compared to the ones they've done in the past (at least it doesn't have faux mother of pearl plastic grips on it).
Now if you can just make the toilet seat functional...
Yes the stainless ones with the mother of pearl grips and gold was a bit too much. No one is gonna talk me out of it. I have to send the check out to Minnesota tomorrow.

I wasn't trying to discourage anyone. [Beer]
The reason they make guns like that is because there are people what will like them and buy them! I'm not one, but if you are, well, more power to you! I hope you enjoy it and it's a good performer for you! I've heard a lot of good things about 1911's in .38 Super.
If it lost the rail I could tolerate it would not Guy it or if I did would repaint but I just hate the rail

Personally, I think it's a monstrosity, but I hope you have fun with it. Good luck.

Because you are thinking the wrong country. I am sure one of our members of Hispanic origins will be along shortly to explain it to you. [Coffee]
I can see it now.... LNIB Taurus pt1911. Only out to the range once. Got laughed at so this one must go!!! Make offer [Stooge]
It's a gun that shoots bullets. I don't see what the problem is.

Jamomatic! I'd be willing to bet. For your sake, I hope not. If I were a betting man, I'd put money on it jamming no matter what ammo you put in it. Good luck!
Just cause it's a Taurus or cause it's a 38 super. My Taurus pt 1911 in 45 never jambed once.

Not a huge fan of Taurus 1911s, but...
Just before Rob's Guns in Parker closed, I was looking for a tiny 38sp. revolver to carry on my ankle when I couldn't really conceal anything else (for example: when I go to weddings or family functions where everyone is huggy).
He had about half a dozen to choose from, but there was one purple (no kidding) Taurus titanium with mother of pearl grips and gold accents that was over $100 dollars cheaper than anything else in its class. I asked "hey, why is that ugly revolver so cheap?" to which he replied, "you just answered your own question". I bough the thing, it carries like a dream... I forget its on my ankle in about half an hour. At 7 yards, I can shoot 2-3" groups anytime. Once when we were camping and got bored, we started shooting it at a boulder about the size of a refridgerator at about 100 yards. Once I got the elevation down, I couldn't miss. It has been one of the best carry guns I own. But I did break down and replace the grips. Mother of pearl is not allowed in my gunsafe.

I would love to find a pt1911 in a 38s for a good price, I have 2 pt1911 45's and I love them. I think it is a cool looking gun, but I would like one without the gold, as I shoot alot.

Took it out to the range today WOW!!!! Very tight groups. Only put 50 rounds down the pipe but not a single misfire. Had about 7 pistols out there and the Taurus kicked butt on all of them. [Weight]
