Despite being in love with Sigs and 1911s I will give ARs a shot...at the suggestion of a couple members I have decided to 'build' my own. My goal for this weekend is to have a nice stripped lower and maybe a parts kit....

Tell me what shops are the best to go out and look and touch at? Who would have the best selection and 'reasonable price' do you guys think? I have never even held an AR so that should tell you how green I am to this stuff.

Thanks!

Welcome to the "Dark Side"!

I'm not sure about which shops might have the stuff but lowers and such frequently come up for sale in the Classified section of the forums. Might wanna check there.

being as you are "green" I would suggest you stay away from the big box stores (Gander/Sportsman's) as they will sell you only a completed model.
I would also warn you away from Jensen's in Loveland, they aren't exactly "green question friendly" if you catch my meaning.

since, you are looking to put it together yourself on the cheap-cheap I suggest Brownell's, CDNN, Cheaper than Dirt, Bud's, etc

Oh Yeah, and welcome to the Dark Side...
even if its just Flat DARK Earth!
