My mom works for the engineering firm that redesigned the Stapleton airport area into the neighborhoods it is now... She sent me this email this morning.

Pictures from Gerrit via Brett Henry of Thornton.

Note the side spill channel that Robert designed in the F18 pond (Picture 66) that we all gave him grief (ok, maybe just me) that it was so big and up until yesterday had not been used. Good work Robert, I take back everything I said!

Awesome picts, and that was crazy stuff yesterday. I was stuck at the I25 and Broadway light rail station waiting for a train in it. Damn shoes are still wet...

There were about four mudslides in Fourmile canyon last night. Lots of rocks in Boulder canyon.

I was on my way to the airport to pick up my daughter stuck in the middle of this on I70. I past a guy heading west on I70 in a Ferrari! I bet he was puckering up!

Two days ago there was a blinding rain storm in the Tech Center as I headed south on I-25. There was a guy ahead of me in a convertible with the top down. I couldn't even see the model with the rain so heavy. He didn't pull off but kept going on the left and fast. I pulled over to the right lanes to drive slower with all the standing water. Have to admire someone like that. Either very tough or very nuts. Hope he had a drain in the floor.

He was probably trying to drive fast enough to keep the car's interior dry. I've had that problem before in my car. The two options are drive as fast as possible to stay dry, or try to find an overpass to stop under and close up before you need your trunks in the car.

Thornton had a crazy rain few hrs ago.

Gets dry very quick.
