Box O' Crap idea

OK, saw this at Lightfighter.com and thought it was an entertaining idea and an interesting idea for this community. So I was thinking about it and would like thoughts and opinions. Not asking this to be a club sponsored thing, but here goes...

1. Once received, you will take what you need...no more, no less.

2. You will add something of your own to the box before re-shipping.

3. When you are done, you are responsible for advertising the next ship out.

4. There will be no $ changing hands for materials, just shipping which is to be incurred by the individual accepting the box.

5. Before you ship, provide a brief inventory of what is left and what you added.

6. In order to be eligible to receive the box, you have to be willing to re-ship the box when you are done.

7. In order to participate, you have to be a contributing member to LF.net at a very minimum. I would prefer you be a contributing member of the RYO, but I won't limit it. Please, productive members only. If you are a probbie without an intro post or a fucked up profile, forget about it.

yeah, we seed a box with that stuff we all have laying around extra, medium sized so it ain't all that much to ship, then ship it around. A pay it foward type of deal if that's a better way to explain it.

And yes, there are one or two other sites out there.. strange hu?

Or you could just list the stuff you can't use anymore, and give it to someone who can use it.

Does it have to be gun stuff? I don't have much if any spare stuff laying around, but I have tons of other stuff like kids junk.

Since most everyone is in Colorado, we could just do a "Pay it forward" thread where people could post what they have to give and if you get, you must post something of your own to give in return to someone else.

Then you don't have to ship the junk, people show up and take it off your hands.

If you're into free stuff, you can get the email announcements but it really fills up the inbox quick.

Or you could just list the stuff you can't use anymore, and give it to someone who can use it.That's what we do at the S&W Forum. We call it "karma". Someone will put up something they don't need and that someone else might use. Folks will respond to the post if they're interested. A name is drawn and the winner receives the goods. The concept has taken on a life of its own and it just keeps going 'round.
