Something new to ride. Since I ride on nicer days in the winter too, I appreciate that it has the heated grips, seats, and even power window.

Nice, the RT? I have a heated vest and some full face helmets if you're interested. Among other foul weather gear.

Play Some Funky Music White Boy.
Traded an AR upper for the mares leg (.45LC) on top. Then the shop had the ISSC mk22 on the shelf and they've always piqued my curiosity. Mostly because I can't afford a real SCAR so this will make for fun plinking in the mean time.

You and me both. My buddy just picked up a brand new one and I was showing off 3rd gear wheelies. Turns out wheelies at that speed on that short of a wheel base are a lot more sketchy then a full size street bike or dirt back. There was no bringing it back once it went and it was all I could do to roll it up on top of me as I slid down the pavement to save my buddy's new bike. I was wearing shorts and sandals and got a nice scar on the round bone on the outside of my ankle because it ground down to the bone and got infected. It's a reminder today that the things in life that seem like they're the most innocent and fun often times can bite you the hardest if you don't respect them. Valuable lesson some don't survive to learn.

Thinking really hard about the A/T KO2's for the Xterra, but finding the time to actually wheel these days is becoming harder and harder, so I'm also considering a milder tread. Keep us posted on road noise and handling.

Not any louder then the BF Goodrich T/As I had before them. Drove the Tacoma trough a gravel parking lot yesterday and picked up a million rocks that were clicking down the road for a while, can't remember that happening with the other T/As. They run great on the Tundra at all speeds. They are not as "sticky" as the stock radials that came with it however.

$30 and it showed up with perfect retention. They have a few different styles as well. Also, the holster is curved to fit around your waist. Very concealable for an OWB, especially compared to the holster you saw me with at the last match.

Don't tell my wife that, or tell her about the 12 year old that got snatched out of one by a bear about a month ago.
For very budget setups they were awesome. My wife was pleased and they stood up to the abuse from a 5 year old so I think they'll work out fine.
Finally we got a model GLOCK 40.
Now, we need to wait for model Glock 9, and Glock 45. :D

Figure hammock, rainfly & underquilt take up about 4 liters of space I'd guess, maybe 6. Hammock and Rainfly by themselves are probably 2.5 liters of space.

So I listed a gun to try and make money. Instead I traded for a C93. Trade value was about equal. The rifle is more desirable to me than the pistol I had.
I tried to list another gun to make money, and I'll be damned is someone didn't offer me another decent trade. Century G1 Sporter. Problem was it had the Tapco SAW stock and grip. So after some thought, I got out my whittling tools and made this here up. No exactly true FAL pattern to the stock, but fits me very well.

If one side of your car enters standing water, the whole car gets pulled towards it, just like real life. You can hydroplane. They've brought endurance racing back to the series (was removed for 5).

Will you require a BGC prior to showing up at your place, this weekend?
"Will you require a BGC prior to showing up at your place, this weekend?"
I can handle that...for a cut.
No one is ever "done"
Well...for now I would like to say that I am. I'm a firm believer that I only keep what I can use (effectively). Now, that being said; I have always wanted to build my custom 1911, but not to keep. I would build it, then once I know she runs...I'd like to move it on to someone who would appreciate it. I have my 3 fighting handguns to go with my 3 tier rifle system and of course, my tactical shotty. I'm comfortably content with what's in the safe.

Picked up the new version of the Native today. Went with the half serrated light weight. Bad ass knife. It's replacing the Manix 2 LW translucent blue which never came back from an atv trip last month. Now discontinued. Still makes my tummy upset thinking she's gone. This is a great feeling edc piece I'm looking forward to running.

Love the Manix 2. Depending on what blade you want, I would highly recommend the LW if you are going to carry it daily. Pretty noticeable weight difference when it's in your pocket all day.

For some reason I've always liked a heavier knife, carrying a ZT 0566 right now, so the G10 Manix would probably be lighter yet. Plus I'm a sucker for G10 lol.
My new Emerson Commander (lefty) arrived yesterday. It wasn't a purchase I was expecting to make by I lost my 7 year old CQC-7 somehow and just couldn't go back to a cheap knife.

And yes, keep yer booger hook off the bang switch, and it's all good.

That's what I say about Glocks to people who don't know better. They don't realize that I'm being sardonic and that there are actual safetys associated with the Glock trigger. Besides the point, most people don't recognize that YOUR BRAIN is the first safety. [Shake]

Did you buy one of the raffle tickets for the Ruger Precision ?
You using the BG for older vehicles primarily, or frequently even on new vehicles? This thing is stupid flex fuel. Up till now my vehicles all been premium and I feel dirty using low grade normal pump gas, was thinking of running mid grade since it sure helps with my weedeater. But if it's made to handle E-85, would going too good in the other direction perhaps be counter productive?
Use whatever octane rating that your engine doesn't ping on while under a load. If you're pulling trailers all the time, then use the good stuff. If you're putting around town with no load, use mid grade. That's what I do.

Havn't noticed pinging even after stopping much less tooling around. Calls for 85, but was wondering about using 87 if that has any health benefits long term or possibly better mpg or something.
Check the user manual to see what grade the motor was designed to run on. Motors designed to run on the lowest grade may even lose performance by running a higher grade. Then it would just be a waste of money.
I think that the newer the vehicle, the better the computer is at adjusting to maximize performed on any given fuel though.

Correct until that last statement. If the manual says 85 you won't get any performance increase from higher octane. You would need to either up boost or advance timing to take advantage of the additional octane and there's just too much leeway for the lowest common denominator for ECU's to take advantage of higher octane. Just run whatever the lowest octane your manual calls for. In some cases, I will monitor knock activity and even run lower than that in some instances but will go back up in colder temps or when traveling to lower elevations or towing or something.
A lot of people think higher octane is 'better' for their vehicle and this simply ins't the case. If you have the tools handy to take advantage of that higher octane it can be but in a stock configuration the only benefit you will see in terms of performance is in the lightening of your wallet.
It's been a while, but the way I remember it is that the higher the octane, the slower the flame front starts in the cylinder. This means that if your vehicle is designed to run on 87 (nothing is designed to run on 85 because most of the country doesn't have 85 due to elevation), and you are running 93, the fuel combustion is happening slower, so instead of igniting right at TDC, the ignition may be occurring after your piston is already traveling back down. Then you're just wasting expensive fuel while getting less power to boot. Do I have that right?
The octane requirement for most cars is calculated for sea level. The octane calculation for 5200 above sea level is about 2 points lower. This is do to atmospheric pressure at this altitude in the combustion chamber being lower. Higher octane that necessary can actually slow the burn rate and reduce power. This would obviously not apply to a vehicle with a turbocharger or supercharger because they create there own atmosphere.

^^ This is why running 85 here is equal to 87 @ sea level or lower elevations , as in NE, or KS.

They run best on Sake doncha know?
Your best mileage usually comes at about 15K, but you could run 4 tanks of 85 and 4 tanks of 87 and see which one is better for mileage. Unless you have an engine that requires premium (and even then) the computer will adjust the tune. You might lose a few hp in the peak of the power band, but then no-one really drives there much anyway. One good thing about E-85, is you can (should) run 1 tank in the spring to clean up the fuel system and it will keep the power up and make it last a little longer.

That 52-2 would be fun, is it 38 special? Always thought it would be cool to shoot but having a gun that size that only holds 5 rounds seemed a little impractical, but who cares it's cool.
I have no idea what you have in the middle? K frame, 3" barrel swap, top rail, custom?

I know we've gone OT for this thread topic in general, but as a non-mechanic myself, I'm curious to understand why you would advocate this in a vehicle that isn't designed to use the fuel? I use a bottle of Techron in my A6 once or twice a year but don't put on a lot of miles (2003, 87K). I know the boat/watercraft guys are pretty adamant about never ever putting one drop of it in your toys.
Ethanol is an alcohol, made from corn or grains, added to gasoline to oxygenate fuel at the gas pumps. Ethanol gasoline fuel is commonly called E10, E85, corn fuel, alcohol fuel and reformulated or renewable fuel and gas. More information: What is ethanol? Ethanol's History.
When using E10 ethanol alcohol fuels, several precautions are necessary because...
X E10 and E85 ethanol blend fuels have an affinity to quickly absorb amazing amounts of water.
X Ethanol alcohol is a great solvent, drying agent and cleanser, that can dissolve engine parts (rubber, plastic, aluminum, and certain fiberglass tanks), remove lubrication, and more. Engine seals and hoses shrink, swell, dry out and lose strength when exposed to ethanol renewable gasoline.
X Water is actually attracted and absorbed into an ethanol blended fuel, and phase separation occurs much sooner. With MTBE, ETBE, lead and other chemicals used in the past to oxygenate gasoline; this did not happen.
X The shelf life of ethanol blend fuels is much lower due to its water-absorbing and corrosive qualities. Replacing gasoline every 2 to 4 weeks is recommended with E10; Recommended use time guidelines vary due to several factors, including type of engine, atmospheric conditions of where engine lives or is stored, quality and octane of fuel, etc. 100 days is the maximum shelf-life for E10 gasoline under ideal conditions.
X The amount of ethanol blended in at the pumps, is not closely monitored. Checking gasoline meets safe and legal alcohol guidelines (10% or lower), is necessary now, until more stringent and consumer-friendly laws are passed.
With knowledge on ethanol's effects and necessary precautions, combined with careful monitoring, you can limit the problems and inconvenience of E10 gas for most engines.
http://www.fuel-testers.com/2_precautions_e10_gas.html
Disadvantages to ethanol fuel blends when used in engines designed exclusively for gasoline include lowered fuel mileage, metal corrosion, deterioration of plastic and rubber fuel system components, clogged fuel systems, fuel injectors, and carburetors, delamination of composite fuel tanks, varnish buildup on engine parts, damaged or destroyed internal engine components, water absorption, fuel phase separation, and shortened fuel storage life.[150] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_ethanol_fuel_mixtures#cite_note-CONS-161)[150] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_ethanol_fuel_mixtures#cite_note-CONS-161)[151] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_ethanol_fuel_mixtures#cite_note-VAT-162)[152] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_ethanol_fuel_mixtures#cite_note-MAL-163) Many major auto, marine, motorcycle, lawn equipment, generator, and other internal combustion engine manufacturers have issued warnings and precautions about the use of ethanol-blended gasolines of any type in their engines,[153] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_ethanol_fuel_mixtures#cite_note-164) and the Federal Aviation Administration (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_Aviation_Administration) and major aviation engine manufacturers have prohibited the use of automotive gasolines blended with ethanol in light aircraft due to safety issues from fuel system and engine damage.[150] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_ethanol_fuel_mixtures#cite_note-CONS-161)[151] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_ethanol_fuel_mixtures#cite_note-VAT-162)[152] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_ethanol_fuel_mixtures#cite_note-MAL-163)[154] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_ethanol_fuel_mixtures#cite_note-165)

The 52 is indeed .38SPL, though only "mid range" wadcutters. The trigger is insane.
The 10 came with grips on it with "BOOZER" engraved. It's a Model 10-6 with all the PPC gunsmith work done to it, apparently to shoot in the PPC snub division, hence the three inch barrel.

Don't mind helping out. This is a .030 427 with a steel crank good rods and 11.5 to 1 compression. Going to have 320cc Alum rectangular port heads with a performer RPM air gap intake and a quick fuel 950 carb. The cam is a hyd roller that's just south of 600 lift. Going in front of a TH400 with a 3k stall and some 4.30 gears. Then we are going to hit it over the head with a 250 shot of the laughing gas. :)
S&W 624 (no dash) from June 1985, woohoo can't wait to hit the range this Saturday (it'll be wearing different grips then, the factory Combats just don't work for me). This is why I've got a Shield up for sale LOL.

Nice revolver.
For me it's more like tacti-old!! The fun part now is finding a holster maker to make a nice pancake style so I can carry it once the weather cools off-I have my eye on a couple.
Tactical for me is lacing up my waterproof Merrell Hikers.

I wish my kid's grandma was that nice when I was little.
Took me year to get a Nintendo Entertainment System at [or little older than] her age.
Whereas, it takes 1 pico-second for grandma to buy my kid a PS4! [LOL]

Well I was looking at getting a SiCo Octane 45HD but got a call from a 'friend' about a deal on the new 2015 TiRant 45M (Modular). I say friend loosely because all he does is cost me money! The price was literally too good pass up so I jumped on it. I may still get a Octange 9 or 45 because I do like the design but for the money I am saving buying this, it was a no brainer. This NFA game is fun but can get pricey! Someone buy my AR now!!!

Is the length of that thing with the extender on it the same as a typical Tirant .45? I couldn't find any info on the AAC website.

Introduced for 2015, the Ti-Rant 45M (Modular) is an updated - more versatile - iteration of the best selling Ti-Rant series. This modular suppressor allows for the user to reconfigure the length in a matter of seconds, without the use of tools! A full sized length of 8.74" can be quickly adjusted by removing the auxiliary baffle module at the rear of the suppressor and replacing the mount to the main body; creating a compact 6.75" suppressor. As with the older Ti-Rant models, the 45M can be disassembled by the user for cleaning and maintenance and is a great choice for .45ACP, .40S&W and 9mm.
That's a pretty sweet setup for a suppressor. You should review it once you get your stamp.

Nice. We'll have to go ride next summer. Maybe to lunch or something.
