Me and a couple of friends are going to Cripple Creek this Sunday the 20th for the rally. Anybody who want's to go for a scoot ride is welcome to come. We are going to leave early AM and come back early PM.

This is a great day ride only about 350 miles.

Well, I gotta say this, Cripple Creek is 25 miles from Woodland Park. Woodland Park is about 90 miles from downtown Denver. That's close to 115 miles. My map software says from Denver at I-25 and 6th. Ave. to Cripple Creek at the fire station is 118 miles. Round trip that's 235ish. Much better. Karl.

Thats not the senic route kind of defeats the purpose of riding staring at I-25. 67 is closed except for resident traffic so an alternate route is in order and it will be about 350 miles. [wink]

Come on 7 that is nothing it's a walk in the park. My buddy Dave went from Main to Texas 3,000 miles in 3 days. My record is the Grand Canyon and back 1550 miles in 29 hours. Once again we could have cut about 200 miles off but the senic route is always better.

The Grand Canyon trip one of my buddys was on a sporty and his wife was on the back. I think you could handle 350.

I am going to meet at my friends house since you live in Aurora we could meet you at 285 and simms. We will probably want to be on the road at 7am that way we will have time to hang out in Cripple Creek. We will be back early evening no problem say by 6-7pm at the latest.

By Thursday or Friday we will have all the details worked out and I will let you know.

Cripple Creek is gonna be a zoo this weekend....some say it will become the next Sturgess.

There will be at least 3 major gangs that are scheduled to show up, as many as 5. There was supposed to be an agreement that no-one was supposed to display colors and at least 2 disagreed, and plan to show.

Law Enforcement is supposed to be sparse and medical staff will also be stretched...they were soliciting to find volunteers and nobody responded so Cripple Creek Fire offered payed positions to finally become staffed for this weekend. Law Enforcement is not expecting much trouble in town but at night in the campgrounds expect blood shed.

If you plan to ride, you probably don't want to plan to camp out.

First off back the truck up with your gang crap. They are called MC clubs NOT GANGS. I know many of them and don't believe everything you read in the news papers and magazines. It's kind of like us gun owners we are a bunch of crazy lunatic gun nuts. Don't believe me really?? just read the news papers and magazines. I have been around them for many years they are no threat to anybody unless you let your mouth over load your A$$ then you get what you deserve. Show respect you get respect act like an a$$ you will get treated like one.

Blood shed in the camp grounds what liberal POS paper did you pull that out of? [roll] [roll] [roll] [roll] [roll]

Now that I have dispelled the most famous biker myth back on topic. 7 I have decided on a route that is only 260 miles round trip from 285 and Simms. We are going to go 285 to Jefferson then south on county road 77 which will put us on Hwy 24 just west of 67.

To my surprise it is about the same distance as if we took I-25 and only about 60 miles farther than if we could take 126 to 67. I was going to go all the way to Hwy 9 which would have been about 330-350 but this will give us more time in Cripple Creek.

For those of you that think you have to have a Harley you don't. All bikes are welcome if you want to ride come along. Cripple Creek is a great rally I have had a good time every year I have went. dispite all the gangs and blood shed!

I'm glad everyone was Ok...but some of the "Motorcycle Clubs" were late arriving. There was a slaying by a "Club" member of the "Club" named "Son's Of Sil****" causing the late arrival of a "Club" named "He**s Angels" that occured in Sturgess late friday night. So the later "Club didn't arrive until late Sunday, but local area LEO tactical teams are on standby expecting a retaliation.

There was blood shed this weekend between these "Clubs", just luckily it was not here.

Dictionary defintion of a Gang,
A group of criminals or hoodlums who band together for mutual protection and profit.

Since both clubs main money raising agenda is selling illigal pharmacudicals, primarily crystal meth (no real secret here) as well as relying on other members for protection....I'd say that they qualify as a gang.

I"m not saying there are not legitimate Motorcycle Clubs, nor was I blowing smoke or reading lib news rags, I just get LEO advisements. Having worked in Teller County there were very few problems usually associated with these rallies with the exception of traffic accidents involving bikes, and they happened again this weekend. The main advisment I was trying to pass on was that some "Clubs" were looking for trouble this particlar weekend.

My orignal post was an advisment to be blown off or taken at face value....obviously I was blown off by some.....DILIGAF

Well first off a very good friend of mine happens to be a SOS member and is also one of the higher ups. They do not make a living off of crystal meth and they are a MC club period. I go to their club house now and again to have a few beers. They do not allow any drugs in the club house period.

Last but not least your LE sources must not be very accurate considering the shooting in Sturgis had nothing to do with the Sons! A Hells Angel shot an Outlaw. The Outlaws are not a sanctioned club in CO the only chapter in this state is on the western slope and they are not allowed to come east.

The only two MC clubs that I would consider gangs that do in fact run the entire club off of illegal activities is the Mongols and the Outlaws. Randy Yager who is the national president of the Outlaw MC club is on ATF's most wanted list. The mongols have no chapters in this state and never will. None of the sanctioned clubs here want them around. You will see some of them from time to time visiting but they have no chapter here.

Every club at CC was a COC=(Colorado confederation of clubs) sanctioned club and they all get along so your LE sources are full of BS plain and simple. I hang with these people on occasion and know them you don't. The Colorado Confederation of Clubs was created by JR he was the national president of the SOS. He passed away a few years ago and at CC I pointed out his son to 7. JR created the COC to get all the clubs together and keep the peace and it has worked very well. I also talk to and see on a regular basis the president of the COC who also happens to be an Iron Horseman.

If in the future you want any factual information ask me. [wink]

One more thing it is not DILIGAF it's DILLIGAF

fwiw, everyone I observed got along just fine. there was no hostilities of any kind. Lots of smiles and what not. a sh!t load of bikes, a few trikes and an oddball three wheeler or two.
There was one or two violations of the "don't wear that in public for the good of all man kind" law. (don't ask, you had to see it)
