He doesn't know it, but I finally figured out why my garage door has a mind of it's own!

Does anyone know if you can change the signal an auto garage door opener uses or do I have to change the whole unit?
Depends on if it is a rolling code remote, or a remote that has switches in it.
Open up the remote and see if there are switches in there and if so you should be able to set the remote and main unit to whatever you want

Google (http://lmgtfy.com/) it...
Internet search the model and you'll find the info...
I had to reprogram my remote.
(BTW: Neighbor) :-)

If you have an older Garage Door opener it'll have a set of dip switches in both the remote and on the main unit ... just flip a couple and make sure they're the same on both.
On a newer one this video might help.

Of course you might want to Google instructions for your specific unit.

Hey, that's my exact garage door opener. Now if someone would just explain why the builder only put in a seven foot tall door on a twelve foot tall garage...

I have a Raynor Aviator, it is fairly new. I will try to re program it and see if that works, thanks.

That's easy....so he could charge for the larger door and pocket the difference!

I just had a thought ... maybe you should run down to your neighbor's place and see if there's anything good in their garage before you go changing the code on your remote.

A Westminster man was shot to death late yesterday when he was discovered prowling through his neighbors garage.
The Homeowner discharged 36 rounds into the prowler as it was believed the prowler was armed at the time.
The Homeowner will not be charged.
Slightly off subject, but the remote for my pickup would set off my neighbors car alarm when I pushed one of the unused buttons on my remote. Since I don't like the guy anyways, I used to set his alarm off every chance I got until he finally just disabled it. [Coffee]
1. you must have a quiet door to not hear it open.
2. my alarm is tied to all exterior doors/windows including garage door. when it goes off without me expecting it, shits gonna hit the fan.
my new alarm system is awesome, has automation built in. i can turn on/off lights, open garage door, control HVAC, set rules, control everything from my phone, etc.
and no its not brinks/adt crap... they are the worst company to go with.
here is a preview (not me) of the same system. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUYrY6XnGZ4

easy, the door was probably 300 vs say 1200 for a nice 10' door. Dumb, but builders are cheap, and get paid again to put in a bigger header, bigger opening, cleanup the edges, etc.

Yeah, the door is wood and was supposed to have been painted a light color, according to the instructions on the sticker on the back. My next house I'm totally going to design and build out of ICF.
