View Full Version : Anyone watch Deadliest Catch?
I know there are probably a few of you out there, and there should be more because it's a good show. I'm not one for all this reality TV crap, but there are a few I do like- Deadliest Catch, Swamp People (Troy is awesome!), Swords on the Line, and the like.
Well anyway, last night was the 2nd to last episode of the season, and as the season winds to a close a lot of the captains are under a ton of stress to bring in big loads and make a profit (some already in the negative). Well with the stress overflowing, last night's episode featured the captain of the Wizard, Keith Colburn, getting fed up with the debt and near-empty pods and taking out his anger on one of the Discovery Channel cameramen. Here's the vid:

My point is, if you were on national TV, wouldn't it be proper not to look like a dick? I'd want to come off as a pretty nice guy, personally.
No. I can't even remember the last series I had time to actually follow.

I've got it DVR'd. Love me some deadliest catch, and man Keith is pent up little bugger.
On another note Ronin, "SHOOT DAT GATOR JACOB!!!"

I'll admit I watch a lot of those shows you metioned. You have to love the fact we need subtitles on Swamp People to understand folks who are speaking English.
I've always asked myself why I find those shows so facinating? Maybe it's the thought of "I wonder if I could do that" which is usually followed by, why the hell would I want to.
But back on topic this whole season Keith is coming across looking like the biggest DBag in the fleet. I used to think Sig was a hard ass but he looks like a kitten compared to how Colburn treats his family and crew.
I watched Deadliest Catch for a while but like all reality shows with the same recurring cast, after a couple of seasons they start to act like they are movie stars and big time celebrities rather than the normal people that I enjoyed watching in the first place. I never watched that Kate Gosslin, but look at how she has become so much of a Hollywierd Diva that she basically pimps her kids out to TV just to maintain the lavish livestyle she has become accustomed to. American Chopper - same thing, West Coast Choppers - same, Octomom... the List goes on.

I haven't watched this season at all. I need to catch up...

The most recent episode was hilarious! Jacob: "You don't like snake 'lizbeth?" Elizabeth: "No, them thangs give me the creepers." Troy: "I know what to get you with then Liz." Elizabeth: "That magnum, that's what I'll get you with! HAHAHA!"
The Landry crew is by and far the funniest group of people. But my favorite guys on the show are the Guist brothers, Glenn and Mitchell.

Agreed, if nothing else watching those guys is a riot. Those are two reality tv guys who are not affected by stardom [ROFL1]. The best was when they got hungry and squirrel hunted from the porch. Then they sounded like bubba gump, talking about all the ways to prepare a squirrel. [LOL]
I rarely watch either of those shows, but I like American Pickers and Pawn Stars. I like American Pickers because those guys are doing exactly what I'd LOVE to do, except I probably wouldn't sell much of the cool stuff they find, I'd want to keep it myself. And I like to see the cool things that go through that pawn shop too. Buncha fat, waddling jerks though.
Also like American Restoration, because restoring cool old things is dear to my heart, and I even like that Storage Wars show because I'd like to get in on some of that action too. I knew a guy once that bought an abandoned storage unit that was full of old Harley parts, he made a killing.
American Chopper.....those guys can kiss the fattest part of my ass. They all need to get hit by lightning. I used to live near that part of NY, and asshole personalities like those are very common there.
Pawn Stars what a goofy show. Hey there is the internet where I can make some $$ or just take it to the Pawn Shop so I can get screwed.
And Rick on AR is a hack. He fuk's up more than he ever "restores".
I'll watch deadliest catch if nothing else is on, but I don't make an effort to watch it...

Yeah, never ceases to amaze me how many people seem to have never heard of eBay or Gunbroker. The stuff they drag in the pawn shop to sell for the lowest offer is just nuts. But, it's Las Vegas, and they want fast cash to go piss away.
I don't know that Rick Dale is a hack so much, but most of his staff appear to be knuckledragging morons.

Very nice. I've played Poker with Freddie, formerly from the Cornelia Marie, now on the Wizard.

They actually can't do "home-packs" anymore. It all has to go through the processor.
