Please refrain from LEO bashing. However as a former LEO myself this is the kind of thing that is ruining any public trust. First off these guys are clueless about how to properly search a vehicle, you do NOT search with an unsecured person still behind the wheel! Its just stupid. Hell you have a partner, pull em all out pat them down and sit em on the curb for Christ sake. Secondly this guy is wound wayyyyyyyyy to tight to be an LEO, this guys conduct should be cause for immediate termination but it wont get him but a slap on the wrist. However it is obvious to me that the CCW holder was likely involved in something fishy (ie soliciting prostitutes or drugs). Anyway check it out.

Funny, I just got done watching this and I will agree- WOW.
I think what pissed the cop off so much is it dawned on him how stupid he and his partner had been and how close to getting capped had the CCW holder had ill intent.
I am not a LEO but common sense would dictate they secure the occupants before searching the vehicle.
And the statements made to the CCW holder once he is detained by the cop should cost him his job.

that was the only thing I could say too...wow...
Some people should not be cops. This is clear cut example. I thought the common thing to do is to make contact with the driver and move all occupants from the vehicle before searching. And it's clear that they didn't even give the driver an opportunity to state he was carrying. If it were me I would insist that they listen to me and yell "I'm carrying a weapon, what do you want me to do?" I'm glad I haven't dealt with cops like these, and I'm sure if I did have to one day they'd be f***ing mall security by the end of the month.

Bash Bash, God help the township that that happens in. A big lawsuit will follow. A civil servant threatening a private citizen for for (still looking for something)?
shouldn't they assume all people have guns? They went into it thinking it was an easy soliciting charge and came up with this.
The cop telling the guy he was going to execute him in the street and not lose any sleep over it needs to be sent straight to prison. That is absolute bullshit. Police should be professionals. They are there to enforce the law, not to become judge and jury on top of it.
Fuck that cop.

I'm going to have to agree that the driver was most likely involved in picking up a prostitute or buying drugs, as you state. The outside male continually lied about his identity throughout the recorded contact.
Having said that, I also agree that the officer's behavior was unprofessional and depending upon their disciplinary system, could be looked at as a terminating offense. It would have been in the agencies I work and have worked at. The officer has some serious anger management issues. Most officers have been that angry at one point or another on a call or traffic stop, but the mark of a professional is, you don't vent at the subject of your frustration. Towards the end of the recording, he was calming down and responding to the driver in a more controlled manner.
The secondary officer should not have searched the vehicle while the driver was still inside; all subjects should have been contained and controlled. Another patrol vehicle drove by shortly after they stopped this vehicle and those officers could have assisted in the controlling of the occupants while the first two handled the vehicle, then each of the occupants one at a time.
This could have been handled better by the officers, no doubt.
The level of unprofessionalism is just mind boggling. How did that man ever pass his psych test?

and why is he wearing a badge?

Rights? Those are those things you read the guy being arrested aren't they? Constitution? Like how far can I run? IDK what you mean....
Gotta wonder how many people that main officer in the video has wasted. If none yet, and he isn't suspended already.....I'm thinking he will be killing someone here soon. He didn't even sound rational in the video. Threatening to beat a woman, kill the other guy...ranting and raving - he's a threat and should not be armed let alone wearing a badge. He's on the edge of a break for whatever reason. And refering to the guy as a stoopid human, like cops aren't humans. LMAO - he clearly admitted he has lost his mind on the video and the next guy was dead or whatnot.
That is one lucky ass dude. Go from picking up a hooker that you could have definitely been charged for to odds are a payday from the city because a cop totally forgets his training and melts down. It's like he hit the lottery. A cop that threatens to 1.arbitrarily arrest you and impound your car any time he sees you, 2.execute you in the street, and 3.Provide another police officer who will perjure himself for his buddy's defense looks like 7-7-7 to me.

yep, I am guessing if this guy does well and gets a lawyer, he won't have to work again or pick up prostitutes off the street. they will come to his government paid for mansion.

Statement released by the Canton PD
"I want to assure our citizens that the behavior, as demonstrated in this video, is wholly unacceptable and in complete contradiction to the professional standards we demand of our officers. As such, appropriate steps were placed in motion as dictated by our standards, policies and contractual obligations. Those steps included: The officer immediately being relieved of all duty. The incident has been referred to the Internal Affairs Bureau for what will be a complete and thorough investigation. As bad as the video indicates our officer's actions were, there is a due process procedure to follow. That process is designed in the best interest of both our employees and the citizens at large. That process will be followed in this case as in all others. Anyone shown to be in violation of our rules and regulations will be help appropriately responsible as dictated by all the facts. ~Chief Dean McKim"

Sorry Oneguy67, I get to fix your comments so rarely anymore :D
Granted, I am not a police officer, nor have I played one on Television.
As I See it the initial officer failed to contact the driver as he allowed himself to be distracted by the female on the scene.
He then failed to communicate effectively with the second officer as to what had and had not been done.
they failed to properly communicate with the driver even after the SIX MINUTES after the stop was initiated. They did an excellent job of yelling AT him.
This is why Cops need to be imprisoned when they fuck up at this level
This isnt a simple error in the date block of a ticket.
It gives the good ones a bad name and spreads distrust and fear.
Just likeCops do not trust "Ordinary Citizens" in a stop, I trust no one.
You never know if you are going to get a crazy shit or which side of the badge he might be on.

Punks, officers or otherwise.
Yeah, all of the above x1000!
But what I want to know is, didn't that idiot cop know his camera was on? Aren't those things like, on all the time? Didn't he realize that thing would be recording every word, belch and/or fart he uttered?
And how do videos like this get on YouTube? Seems to me things like that would be rather tightly restricted and controlled. I'm sure you can't just go in and ask for a copy of some cruiser's tape from some certain night and time. Maybe ya can, I don't know.....

Lawyer of the arrested got it and put it on youtube
I'm surprised they didn't erase the dash cam.
They made a lot of mistakes and questionable decisions. It looked like a warrantless search of a vehicle without consent based on the fact that they looked like scumbags and were in a bad neighborhood. Then he heard the guy had a CCW and flipped out, telling the other two individuals -- including one who gave a false name -- to leave or get beaten, after which he proceeds to insult and mock and threaten the CCW holder for about 10 minutes, telling him that he should have just emptied his Glock into him for being stupid and that he would've gotten away with it.
I think that cops who betray the public trust in this way should be prosecuted for felonies . . . but they probably won't convict him of anything at all. He may not even lose his badge over this.

I'm surprised they didn't erase the dash cam.
Current dash camera systems are hard drives that automatically download to a server. Some cities have remote servers in areas frequented by their patrol vehicles, but most are located at their office. At my previous agency, the server automatically downloaded the vehicle's hard hard when we were parked at the office. The supervisor could immediately check all recordings to see if any officer was manually stopping the recording before or during a traffic stop.
Once you have a system like this in place, you tend to forget its there and go about your business. Apparently, this was the case in this instance.
I posted this video this morning on the "should you notify police you're carrying" thread!!
Good news is that they guy doesn't need to worry about sweeping parking lots anymore.

More likely in FTO. Hell I know a guy who is a current DPD officer who I would have sworn had no chance in hell of getting past a psych test. I am certain that one of these days I will see him in the news. Its guys like this that we are breeding in LE these days and one of the reasons I got out.

I am pretty sure that was a roid rage flip out. They definitely need to test this guy for steroids. If one guy in the dept is juicing chances are that more are.
So, he derelicted his duty, performed a warrantless search, threatened to assault a citizen, threatened to murder a citizen in cold blood, and threatened to harass the citizen at every opportunity.
And he's on suspension.
What. the fuck.
this type of behavior is nothing new and happens all the time .it would be nice if someone posted cops doing a job and helping the community . why are there so many examples of people being scumbags and so few examples of people doing good.

This type of stuff is one reason that I DON'T carry concealed.
How can police officers act like this without being killed by the citizenry, and then turn around and tell us that they have a dangerous job?
Let's say that this traffic stop happened in front of your bus stop and you were there to witness the whole thing. What, if anything, would you have done?

and most people getting pulled over aren't hardened crack addicted serial cop killers.

Just because you say it's a fact- does not make it one. There is not one chance in hell that you could provide any statistics or numbers to back up your statement. You obviously have issues with police officers. Just try to hide them next time you need one.
[MOD EDIT: Removed inappropriate comments - we have stated time and again LEO bashing & negative generalities will not be allowed on this site.]
Again I say, it's not bashing, it's just a fact.
When this is your mindset, there is a great chance that you're going to automatically act like a total cock during every police interaction. Which is probably why you think that the majority of police act like that.
