What do you guys think of this? $1K is a little bit of a stretch but they say it is priced so high to keep it off the evening news. What happens if the ATF changes their mind and decides this is a machinegun?

so all its doin is bump firing the weapon
the reciever is on a suspension
that is right on the boarder line of making it a machine gun, but the trigger is pulled each time for each round fired
its a fine line they are dealing with thats for sure
but man its cool
I wouldn't pay $1000 for it but it definately looks really cool. This (http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0034775227757a&type=product&cmCat=search_redir) is cheaper.

This is cheaper.
But not nearly as cool.
looks like fun.. and the price of .22lr is right!
but alas, as is with all .22's it takes longer to load than fire

Looks good to me better get one while you can before some over zealous ATF agent makes a ruling claiming it's illegal.

This seems very similar to the Hellfire trigger. You can buy those for less than $10. They can be installed on an AK47 or SKS. I have an AK with a Hellfire trigger installed. I can bring it to a shoot.
Mines actualy some varient. It looks like a normal trigger, and you can feel it buffer agianst your finger with every shot.

You think they would granfather the ones already out there?

Calling 2C.... calling 2C.... full-auto for $1200.... no forms needed.... [wink]
Showed this around at work today... cool for sure, but I dunno. I'd want to see how the guide rails are installed and how much flex is in the mount(s). 22lr isn't gonna rattle your teeth out or anything, but I'd think the design could inherently lead to action failure from constantly bouncing around. Thoughts on that?
Sure is fun watching those clips empty.
I would abstain from calling it "full auto" because technically it is not and if it were, the ATF would be all over this and hard.

Yes they always do just like the open bolt guns for an example.

Look at the manual on their website, it has a CAD drawing of the mechanism. Also I would think that the way it rides on a spring would actually act as a buffer for the action, but if not and it did wear out a 10/22 in a few years, who cares! A 10/22 cost about $170.
BTW, I ordered one of these before I posted this. I will let you guys know how it turns out.
I know HunterCO, I should have used that money toward an HK sear but like you said I am not sure how long these things are going to be legal.
wow that is really cool.... make sure to tell us how it works, btw how does teh hellfire trigger on your ak work AR will? Can it still do semi auto? I wonder if that 10/22 system still could do semi

I have a different take
If the ATF changes their mind and calls them MGs, there will be no grandfathering short of a court order. This isn't your father's Tax and Trade Bureau. Today's ATF would show up, take the stock and leave. If you put up a stink, they'd charge you with possession. Same thing they did with the Cole's Uzi parts kits awhile back when they retroactively decided the receivers weren't demilled properly.
The Striker/Street Sweepers got grandfathered because there's no making ban in effect for DDs.

It is definitely a risk but I think it's worth taking. The way the current law defines a machinegun I think would have to rewritten it in order to ban these. If they have to do so I think they will have a hard time confiscating them.
Also the ATF has known about these for over a year when the first Beta test type prototypes were sent out to individuals and the company has several letters of approval from the ATF. But like we all know the ATF can change their mind at the drop of a hat. I would really hate it if the ATF banns further production of these and I never got one. I was too young to buy up some registered MG when the prices were reasonable so I cant blame myself for that but I think I would kick myself if this opportunity was only around for a little while and I missed out on it.

Dude seriously... quit tempting me! I'm poor and it's just mean.
