Anyone know if one of the local dealers usually carries AR lowers with the "pistol" designation marked on them? Or should I just order one and have it shipped? I would prefer a Spikes or maybe a RRA. Thanks.

There's no physical or legal distinction between having a lower marked pistol or not. The legal difference is that it hasn't been assembled into a rifle previously, and FFLs are supposed to transfer any lower which is not part of a complete firearm as "other" these days.

That' my understanding also and I do have a couple of lowers laying around that I know were listed as "other" when the paper work went through. I just figured since some companies made some that specifically say "pistol" on them it would eliminate a lot of confusion on the legality of the whole thing should I ever decide to sell it.

I'm just weird that way I guess.

Thanks for the replies, I might have to see what Machine Gun Tours has in stock.
