Says a lot about the psychological effect of being attacked by someone dressed as an authority figure. When the real thing shops up you are still scared like crazy, just look at their faces.

and then people wonder why when a cop says "POLICE!"
we go... "yeah right, I dont believe you! PROVE IT!"
The cost of an "oops" is too high.
Just ask the 76 people in Oslo
There are moments in life that divide time into two parts.
Before this and after this.
Not one single day will be as it was for so many families. My heart goes out to them. It seems like words are such empty useless things in moments like these.
I thought pridefully this couldn't happen here in the USA I can carry a gun. I remembered that Norway allows its people similar rights. I thought, 'I would have taken this gunman down.' I realized an off duty policeman was gunned down first. Someone infinity better trained than myself.
I thought what would I have done. I know that I would have tried to do what I could but I also know that if a man who appeared to be a police man aimed a gun at me my reaction wouldn't be to draw my own. I would have likely died in every scenario I could think of. I tried to figure out why I wanted to down play these people as less and I realized it was because of my need to believe that something like this couldn't have happened to me or here. It could. What a harrowing day for these people. They are just like me and it happened to them.

I remember a number of years ago someone cruising around Denver in a white crown vic with lights pulling women over and raping them... another slash towards distrust and requiring LE to present ID.

Here's some of the tough treatment this guy can expect for the next 10 to 20 years:

That happened in Fort Collins when I was up at CSU.

How long ago was that? I didn't hear about it FoCo, but that's scary... That's why they always say to pull over in a well lit area and ask for LE identification.

can I have your stuff?
because there is more than one video out there of what happens...
not bashing, just trying to get first in line for Ronin's toys when he dies in an officer involved shooting.

I was thinking the same thing. "Drivers license and reg please"..."you first officer". THWAP THWAP.
I attended CSU 8 years ago. Getting old, shit.

[LOL]
No more along the lines of if not uniformed ask for a PD issued ID to verify. And I'd use tact! I'm not some nut case that would just be like "I'll show you mine if you show me yours. Prove you're the law piggy!"

In 2004 Lacy Miller was kidnapped by a guy impersonating a police officer in Fort Collins, she was eventually murdered.
There were reports of someone impersonating an officer and pulling people over in January this year in Fort Collins.

LOL... I know a guy who threatened CO Mills mall security once. Too bad Lakewood PD has a substation there, the security guy said he could have LPD all over him in a second, to which the guy just went "Call 'em, if that's the only authority you actually have, rent-a-cop."
