I just picked one up today. I had one before but I traded it before I ever shot it. The reviews that I read look good. I probably won't get to shoot it until BPTacical finishes my 1911 so, I just wanted to see if any of you guys had any experience with Kahr firearms and what you thought.

I use a Kahr PM40 as a backup. I just put a Kahr CW40 up for consignment though. I wasn't as pleased with it as I was with the PM40. The CW series is designed to be more economical than their other series of handguns and I personally think the 'cheaper' quality shows.

Just my $.02.

Do you think it was just the feel and look that are cheaper or the operation of the weapon itself?

I have played with and shot a few. They have awful triggers. Ultimate CCW gun- imho- Colt Agent .38, parked.

If you can get over the sh*tty trigger, a 'recommended' break in period before it acts right (per mfg.), and a pretty healthy price tag, I'd say they're OK.

"...any experience with Kahr...

Only PM9 and MK9, no other Kahr products. Had a lot of range time with both a few years back but...could just never "get there" (for me). Liked the MK, like the form factor Kahr offers but...I had other options I preferred (no bashing here, just not in my arsenal and no plans to procure).

I don't really know. It just 'felt' different. It didn't feel as comfortable to shoot as my other one; the trigger pull was different. The frame is larger than my backup and wasn't as comfortable to carry.

I know that probably doesn't help as an explanation very much. Sorry.

I've dried fired it several times. I have felt much worse. I'll be at the range in a week or so and that will tell the story.
