Make sure you let the store management know why you won't be spending your hard earned $$ there anymore.
Simply not going there doesn't let them know they lost business for their idiocy.
It may have something to do with it's proximity to a bank. Not that I agree with the gas station. Just a possibility.

whats that have to do with anything?
what does that have to do with anything?
There fixed it for you.
I was just voicing an opinion. Don't crawl up my ass.
Some people might tend to get nervous around firearms. Maybe the clerk thought weapons out in the open near a bank looked a little suspicious. The bank is right next door.
Call it playing devil's advocate.

If you Don't like it, Don't go there.
Right of the Property/Business owner.
Exactly, it is the right of a business to ask a customer to leave. As it is the right of a customer not to do business with such stores.

and we are a minority.
If we get too loud the Police roll up and "Disarm us" for their safety wile we get a ride in the back of their cars.
Haven't you been reading other threads? the PD Speak, you shut up. If anyone of any level of authority speaks, dont ask questions, Don't make waves. keep your head down.
I have been reading other threads on the matter of police interaction with legally armed citizens. I would say this is especially true of certain Windsor police. I have lived here all my life and have had a few contacts with police. Most of the long time veterans are OK, while the newer rookies are a little too eager to "uphold the law". They think they have something to prove.

Ask the guy in Aurora how many Cops it takes to fuck up your day.
Byte, I'm pretty sure you and I are on the same page here. I wish open carry was a more accepted practice. And that businesses allowed open carry. I just don't think it is gonna get any more accepted.

We just need to educate these people as to why we have the right to open carry. To protect us and others around. But be nice, go put the pistol in the car walk back in, buy what ever and calmly explain why and if he doesn't like it then leave. But give him some thing to think about. Better armed citizens than armed bad guy's!! [Beer]
Ask the criminal in Aurora how many Cops it takes to fuck up your day.
Fixed it for you.
It apparently, only took one to end his apparent short lived career as a criminal. I mean.. his family has no idea why he'd be trying to extort someone.

so he needs to be shot?
I guess the guy in Canton needed to be killed too then? Failure to identify... criminal.
OK How about the ladies that got "Pulled over"...
my point is that of late there is an rampant abuse of power by those entrusted, elected as well as others playing the part and I am sick of it.
There seems to be no accountability and no regard for the consequences.
people aren't pulling over for Cops, because they are afraid... and that's just wrong on every level.
Then you have the elected ass-hats on TV saying it will be all OK... while the talking heads on the TV News tell us to have 6 Months of living expenses in our 401K or money market account just in case this doesn't Debt resolution go through.
no one has a realistic clue what to expect if the US Defaults.
You think $2.00 is allot for a loaf of bread now?
wait.
The wall is getting closer.
I have so many things I want to cream out, so many questions.
I am equally afraid of the response as I am the reaction.
and the wall gets closer still, with no sense of slowing.
Agreed Byte Stryke....
As to the business owner.... don't I hear all that stuff about the rights of the business to serve who they please?

Best sign ever was one I saw at a Gun store in NC
"we reserve the right to tell you to go the fuck away."

Definitely a right of the business owner to do that but I would still possibly contact management and politely tell them why you wont spend your money there anymore.
Yeah, but are kids allowed in there?

Just so you know, the criminal that was shot by the Aurora Officer was carrying a knife and pulled it out, which is what I would assume anyone on this forum would do if confronted that way.
As for the ladies that got pulled over, those are police impersonators and if you see something that doesn't look right about any traffic stop please call the police immediately so they can be caught.

And I don't mean to derail this thread, I thought I should just shed a little light on that one.
And Irving...I sure hope those kids aren't allowed in there, you can take my gun away, but don't let me shop around kids. [Beer] LOL

I like the quote in the comments:
"If I owe you a pound, I have a problem; but if I owe you a million, the problem is yours. (John Maynard Keynes)."
Reply comment:
"So China has a problem?"

Yes, and nobody here is advocating making it illegal for a business owner to refuse us service.
HOWEVER, the primary function of ANY business is to make money ... if we can convince the guy that he's going to lose more money with a "no guns" policy than without than maybe he'll come around to our way of thinking.
That's why you need to write a letter to any business you plan on boycotting. Politely and professionally tell them exactly why they are losing your business (and if possible include receipts showing how much you spent with them in the past).
Don't couch your argument in "I KNOW MAH RIGHTS!" or "YOU HATE TEH CONSTITUTION YA COMMIE!" instead appeal to logic and reason (because frankly I believe that logic and reason are on OUR side here ... an armed society IS a polite society and we can generally prove it scientifically).

Someone post the name and number of the gas station so we can call and tell the manager/owner that we will no longer give our business to a gas station that thinks they somehow have power over the 2nd amendment.

So yeah... it was probably me in there lol. I walked into the 7-11 on 7th and main, with my friend; I, open carrying my duty Glock 17. I work armed and unarmed security for U.S. Security Associates, affiliation aside. I just walked to the gas station to grab a drink and some smokes, bought my product, was not asked to leave. it was next to the chestnut apartments on 7th where i was pulled over by an officer, who question my reason for open carrying. aside from that i haven't seen anything about not bringing firearms into the store, will check tomorrow :)
i don't know if there were multiple incidents of people open carrying, but i haven't seen anyone else doing as much so i can only assume it was me.

The Far side of windsor where Water Valley rests is quite, how can i say this politely, self entitled to a certain higher prowess regarding law. In short, my experience has been that they are generally pretentious. so i can definitely see that happening off 257 than in the center of town(seems kind of backwards right?)
My fiance works at the station on 7th and Main. She informed me that open carry in the store is generally not allowed. I think there are acceptions for LEO's and security. She said she would check on the company policy to make sure. I'm just speculating for now.

WTF? The correct answer is :Because it's my legal right. If there is no specific law restricting open carry, then it is implicitly allowed. If I was in a feisty mood, I might have asked the officer to produce the code section under which he had stopped me, assuming I wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary with my driving.
