this is a conversation between me and a stoopid friend.....

stoopid friend: you carry lighters or matches in your bug out bag?
me: lighters, matches are for cavemen.
stoopid friend: well what if a EMP goes off?

Tell him that you have pull start lighters so you'll be okay.

Flint, matches, and lighters. I suck at starting a fire so I need all the help I can get.

In case of zombies. Do your friend a favor and shoot him in the leg. He's going to get eaten anyway but its best not to put him in a position to do any harm first. Its what they should have done with Jar Jar Binks in Star Wars 1

I always modify my bic lighters and take out the fuel injectors. Yes, carburetors can be hard to work with sometimes, but you never know.

You forgot lighter fluid.

Boy scout water is also very important.

Yep, fire good. I keep at least 3 ways to light it in my bag.

Carry something you can use one handed.

I do carry a lighter but I can light a fire one handed with the rod and striker. This was a topic awhile back on one of my survival forums. [Beer]

I have a magnesium fire bar that I picked up from Harbor Freight for about three bucks but I find that the mixture for the bar is off because that thing is harder than a whores heart and almost impossible to get pieces off of.

Lighter, matches, Magnesium bar with flint strip, And a plastic match holder full of Gun powder. A little powder can go a long way!!
