OK...I was finally in the right place at the right time.
I stopped into a local gun store (GMG) on a whim today just to see what was laying around.
I scored a LIKE-NEW-IN-THE-BOX Kimber Gold Combat RL II for $1195 out the door.
A good price for this gun in this condition would've been about $1700 - $1800.
I keep expecting to get a phone call from the cops for stealin' the damn thing.

My best deal in a CO gunshop came at- guess where- Firing Line. About 3-4 years ago I spotted a NIB Interarms commercial blue P-38 in their cabinet marked at $599. It was in the original old brown pebbled Interarms box, with everything, 2 mags, manual, target and papers. Now at that time, as a P-38 guy, I knew these were going for $800 on Gunbroker. I talked to the little Brit guy and asked if they would take $499. He went away for a while, came back and we did the deal for $499. That was a screamer as far as I was concerned. Not everyone's cup of tea, I know, but I was pretty happy. Still have it- mint in the safe!

I had no idea you could negotiate gun prices at The Firing Line?

My guess is the gun was a consignment. I have bought several pistols there where I offered less than the tagged price. I recall a Pasadena Auto Mag and the P38 as the 2 most recent. I wouldn't do that on an obviously new gun, as in late model that they prob got from their distributor. Older guns- you betcha!

You are just lucky I didn't have the money when I saw it, must have passed each other in the parking lot.[Beer]
I ordered a Ruger SR1911 while I was there. Not the same, I know.

Lets see some pics of the gun!
Don't let Atrain see this, he'll tell you how comparable his Deagle 1911 is. [LOL]
Did you get the bull?
