The range is re-opening Sept. 1st. I have no idea what is going on or if it will still be ran by the range nazi's. I guess when it opens I will stop by since I drive by it everyday and see what the scoop is.
I am optimistic it will be ran by people with a clue but time will tell.

Thanks for the update, HunterCO. I was wondering what was up with that place. Please do keep us updated!
Don't they have an indoor rifle range?

I think they do, but if I remember it's limited to .22s. Don't quote me on that, though.

They had changed that last time I was down there and would no longer allow .50 BMG.

Damn, I guess I'm SOL with my .50 now. ;) Should still be able to shoot common hunting rifle rounds though, I would think.

Should still be able to shoot common hunting rifle rounds though, I would think. When I was there last year or whenever, I shot .223 on both the rifle range, and the pistol range, and told that .308 was ok. No telling what the new management will do, of course.
I drove by there last night. There was a 'Green Mountain Shooting Center' banner posted over the K2 sign. None of the parking lot was plowed and it did not appear to be open.

Reviving and old thread...
This weekend I saw an "Opening Soon" banner on the building and a truck with the range's new name on the side.
Let's hope this one works out. The range Nazis at the old K2 pissed me off last time I went there--I wanted to test out my new PTR-91. A guy range officer said to do it on the pistol side because the rifle side was full. A couple weeks later, I brought my Winchester 94 30-30 and shot a few offhand shots on the pistol side and got yelled at by the range b*tch who threatened to throw me out, and said no one was ever allowed anyone to shoot rifle calibers on the pistol side, and no one ever did it. She got more pissed when I pointed to the 7.62x39 brass on the floor from earlier shooters and asked her where they came from... The old man owner was nice and friendly, though.
