Went out for a test paddle this evening and to drown some worms. All I can say is, I'll probably be out on the res tomorrow morning before work. :)
It was a blast, this is my first kayak, an Ascend FS10 and I am pretty much hooked. Paddled around a bit to get a feel for it then wet the line. Only 3 small rainbows that lived to see another day. But it was a great evening on the water. Anyone else fish from a kayak?

Never from a kayak, but I have used a personal pontoon boat and a float tube one time. Never again on the float tube though, wind came up at Spinney and blew me across the res. I’m not a small guy and was wore out by the time I had to kick back to the Jeep.

That's cool. After I sold my 08 Harley a couple of weeks ago I really contemplated buying a used pontoon boat. I've always wanted one. I know it's not the same or as personal as a kayak but I'd still like one.
Then I came to my senses and bought a new Harley. [Beer]
Congrats on the newfound hobby.

So... what you need is for Harley to start making pontoon boats. [Coffee]

That has got to be the best idea in the history of mankind!
This sounds extremely fun. With the size of the lakes here, I think a Kayak or a canoe would be extremely fun, and way easier to store, maintain, etc, than a boat.

Yep, I agree. I also like the idea of the solitude of floating around in a kayak on a quiet summer evening.
I picked up an old Wave Sport kayak that will be a fly fishing boat, when it's done. Fun stuff.

Been thinking about buying one and fishing from it!
Do you need to register it?
License it?
Restrictions on where you can use it?
Thanks for info!

Restrictions on where you can use it? Not sure of any. As long as boats are allowed... It would need lights if you were going to use it after dark.
Thanks for info!

With all the oil they leak the hippies would shut that idea down before one got on the water [ROFL1]

Thats a good idea. Then the loud pipes will scare all the fish over to me and my quiet boats. I like it!!
P.S. Drilldov2.0 you may want to up date you're location before the Mods get ya!!![Beer]

I would definitely recommend getting one to anybody who is interested. Spent a few hours on the res today until the wind picked up. I was soaked paddling back to shore with the waves splashing me nonstop. It was a blast.
I didn't get skunked though, There was a fingerling Walleye on my hook when I got to shore [ROFL1]
A few things I need so far, an anchor, a light and on my particular model the two rod holders behind the seat are in a terrible position and nearly impossible to see. So I figured put the anchor and light back there and get a dual rod holder up front. Then I should be gtg.
