In two weeks I have a job interview for a PD dispatchers job. I know we have current and former LEO’s on here and was wondering what I can expect as far as questions and any tests I’ll have to take.

I've dealt with them before. Not a bad agency.

Most dispatch applicants go through a multi-tasking exam, in which they gauge your ability to listen, type and talk at the same time. That is either a go/no-go or a scaled exam. Then usually comes the oral board interview and a ranking for a hiring eligibility list. Those on that list will then go through a background investigation and dependent upon the agency, a polygraph and a psychological. I am not sure if Fountain requires the last two for their dispatchers. Most agencies do.

My advice is to make sure you tell them you wont tell cops over the radio to beat up old men or threaten the life of someone they just pulled over who has a ccw or any of the other crazy stories that have come up lately!
