Did you guys know that it is loosely based on the west African chimpanzee uprising of 2000?!

I saw it last night. Great movie. The special effects were amazing.

Also, lots and lots of throwbacks and nods to the first movie.

The vid up there and several other vids are viral videos used by Fox to get the movie spread out to the general pop. The user name of all the vids is Apeswillrise

Pretty funny.

Movie looked kind of dumb to me based on how fake it looked but if you guys are saying it was good ill check it out

Just saw it last night, have to agree with Ridge, very cool special effects... In the end I could see why PeTA loved this movie too:

Resurrecting this zombie thread because I finally went to see "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" last weekend and it prompted me to go back and watch the original "Planet of the Apes" movies. Is it just me or did anyone else feel the original movies were better, CGI or no CGI? Even the original latex costumes were better than the CGI in my opinion.

I always vote originals.

Most sequels or remakes are at best 75-80% of the originals. Many outright suck.

Looking forward to watching it. The trailers that I saw made it look really good. I thought the first one was good also.

WAY OT. anyway. I remember going to see POTA. They were turning kids away , without a parent/ guardian, due to the PG rating.
