Here is an oddball question for you legal gurus:

I've got a good friend who is going to CU Boulder and is a resident of Washington D.C., and not Colorado. As I'm sure you all know, guns are banned in Washington D.C., but he wants to purchase a 10/22 after I showed him the light last weekend.

I know it isn't a problem for him to possess the weapon in Colorado, but I don't know the laws about how exactly he is to acquire the gun. Can a resident of Washington D.C. legally purchase a firearm anywhere? How does this work?

Thanks!

He can legally purchase a rifle no problem handguns are another issue.

i think you have to show proof that you live in colorado, i know military has to show orders if we have an out of state id. even for long guns
