Bank of America sent a letter of foreclosure to this Florida couple. Problem is that they never had a mortgage, paid for the house in cash. 25 lawyers turned down their case. Finally they found a guy that had been a lawyer for only 8 months to take the case. The couple won, but the bank wouldn't pay the $3,000 that the court mandated to cover their time and money spent on this. So they got the sheriff and some repo guys, and went down to the bank and took the stuff that wasn't bolted down.

Totally awesome!

Did you see that BofA stock all but crash yesterday? They are being sued for millions! Finally!

I want to stick it to Citi so bad I can't stand it. They screwed me and my family and I know I got their ass pinned to the wall. The problem is that every attorney I have talked to agrees I have a case, but wants a 15k-20k retainer at minimum!
Maybe I need to go to a graduation from a law school somewhere!!

It deeply disturbs me that even though they were clearly in the right, no attorney wanted to touch their case and risk the wrath of BoA.

Fixed your post... of course, if they lose the suit that money probably ends up coming straight out of the US treasury (and then straight back into it, since it's AIG who's suing them).

Seems kind of crazy but you might be onto something here. If you have a legitimate case, there are plenty of struggling attorneys out there.

Not bad for an old retired cop, eh?

Same couple.
