View Full Version : More accurate: Swiss K31 or Finn M39?

So me and a buddy have a ongoing debate on wich is the more accurate of the two. I do not own a m39 only a k31 and I love it, ive had the chance to shoot his m39 and ill give it credit, but to me its not on the k31's level. Which rifle would you guys choose if it was ww2 all over again?

I have had both and there both tack drivers and run like clocks!!
But nuthin runs better than a Swiss watch!! ;) and shoots like a dream!!

K31 all the way.
ammo is pretty spendy though.

I like my K31's, but don't have much trigger time with them. But I don't think the GP11 surplus ammo is any pricier than the Greek HXP M2 ball from the CMP, about fitty cents apiece. Wish it was reloadable though, that's beautiful brass and a shame to scrap it.

Gp11 is some great ammo, sucks that I cant find it locally, tried some new commercial prvi...that stuff is horrible, gp11 only in my k31's

leasures treasures in the springs sells gp11, but its marked up double what you could buy it for online (about a dollar a round). I know who's not getting my business.....

Looks like whomever was issued the K31 I have, used it to pound in tent stakes. [Tooth]

My vote is the Swiss K31. I agree that the ammo probably makes a huge difference.

I've got both and love them...They are both uber accurate...here are my thoughts and observations:
K31 - everything is superbly crafted and the triggers are best in class for the milsurp arena. As many have mentioned already, the awesome GP11 ammo gets part of the credit for the accuracy of the K31. The one area I give the nod to the finn is the sights. I really like the M39 sights, very crisp and sharp with a very long site radius. All that being said, really like the K31s, easy to reload, extremely accurate, and fun to shoot. However, I say buy both and decide for yourself!

K31 for me, love the Swiss barrel. IMO they're one of the top out there

I want to add a K31 (7.5x55) to the collection after the 6.5 craze I'm going though

The K31 probably on average but the M39 has some fine examples of those in the better conditions.

i would take an oberndorf, banner or suhl prewar k98 if choosing ww2 bolt guns, second choice would be a savage made enfield ;)

The nagants are great but simple rifles. Accurate enough but the K31's were on a whole different level. I love my nagants but the K31's are just better. Chevy vs caddy kinda deal
