I got bored the other night and got a wild hair up the ole arse. I painted my slide a flat machinery gray. Sometimes I look at it and think it looks cool, other times I'm not loving it. Either way, I wanted to duracoat this one in an urban digi camo eventually. Feedback welcome.

I think it looks pretty good, what kind of paint did you use, brand and if you could were to get it, I would like to do a couple of guns if it holds up, also how did you prep it and if you can post pictures after you shoot it thanks.

Yeah no problem, I will post some pics after I shoot to see how it holds up. I went to Ace in Highlands Ranch and got some machinery paint made by Krylon. Supposed to stand up to high heat and have a durable coating. If it doesn't hold up that well, no biggie I will have it professionally done.

Oh and as far as prep atrain, I just masked off the parts where I didn't want paint. The sights, the chamber, all underneath the slide, the barrel, etc...all came off perfect with a good blade.

Ya I'm thinking its duracoat time. I would have rather done an OD green, but couldn't find any.
I painted one of my ARs in OD green. Not sure I like it but I imagine when I get tired of it I can clean it off with some lacquer thinner. I like the looks of a two-tone pistol but I usually prefer a black slide with a different color frame. I do think it is kind of cool that you did something other than tan or OD green. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Recently came across these on Brownells website, 9 colors, including OD green, and 3 clear.
