Hmmmmm wonder why no one will talk about it or even mention his name in the mainstream media? BTW he has won virtually every straw poll as well.
No one wants to talk revolution do they? well except those pesky founding fathers and their bothersome constitution.

Something looks very fishy about those poll results. Not to mention, it's an internet poll. Hardly scientific. No different than pro-gun people loading up on a gun poll.
Said it before, I'll say it again. Ron Paul doesn't have a prayer at getting the nomination. He's whacked on foreign policy and every knows (or should know) it.
And it's not some conspiracy by the media. He just isn't going anywhere.

Word. Although there are some things I really like about Ron Paul, his foreign policy, for the most part, ruins him for me.

Had to fight to stay awake for the majority of the "debate" but thank God I had a couple cold beers to keep me going. There was very little but "hollow talk" for the duration of the program. Not one person on that program that I'd comfortably vote for NOW - well maybe Bret Bair. [ROFL1]

Okay,
An opposer making the team's case.
A teammate making the opposer's case.
Pick one...
We can do better people.
Rick Perry will shake some things up today....
That's what I'm hoping. My previous preferences for a candidate sort of fizzled out. I still don't think Romney has a chance in the end.
As for Ron Paul "crushing the competition", well I don't think so. I think he has some pretty hard core fans but not enough support to catch the primary.
Those polls were probably done by Nynco :).

As a former Ron fanboy I feel fine in saying he's just not a viable candidate. His positions are agreeable for the most part, but the country for the most part will not elect a libertarian.

Perry will get the Tea Party support from Michelle. You can't go up against his record either, his state is actually creating jobs.
Question is, is the nation ready for another Texan! [Coffee]

That's a fact. Nor did he crush anybody last night. Where did nynco go? He was a pesky irritant.
I didn't mind debating Nynco, but it turned into absolutely EVERYTHING was a debate and everything was a big to do about nothing. I'm not going to weep over him not being here any longer but if he shows up again - whatever, he's on my ignore list anyway.

In fact, I am going to hope it was! Cause that is very funny!

Well he's not banned or anything, his last post was on the 8th. The 7th/8th was a point where a number of us posted that we were tired of his point of view and would no longer "talk" to him- including me. Maybe he's just taking a break from us! What a troll.
His last activity was yesterday at 5:05PM, so he's still checking in to see what we're saying in his absence :).

yeah, it's his wacky foreign policy ideas that I don't like.
he thinks troops should come home home and be placed on our borders, and I agree.
but thinking that a nuclear iran is ok is just stupid, as is the level of isolation he wants.
when the U.S. goes isolationist, world wars happen.

Ever wonder why Iran wants nukes? Its not because we are free and prosperous.
Maybe its because the big bad USA keeps fucking with them and the only way we'll leave them alone is if they have a nuke.
Kinda like North Korea. Kim Jong peckerhead didn't get a nuke because he's a pyromaniac. Its because he has had the worlds most powerful military at his southern border for 50 years ready to invade at a moments notice.
I would want a nuke too.......

Yea, who was fairly ineffective against the north and at best was just able to maintain the 38th parallel. I doubt he's all that worried. Considering he is a saber rattler, like most petty dictators, he wants nukes to intimidate those around him (yes, like the U.S.).

are you willfully blind to all the "death to israel" talk from iran because you hate jews, or are you just ignorant of iran's past history of hatred and support of terrorism?
are you willfully blind to all the "death to israel" talk from iran because you hate jews, or are you just ignorant of iran's past history of hatred and support of terrorism?
Nope. Not blind. Just sick and tired of spending our trillions$$$ on other country's problems.
Israel has 60-80 nukes. She can take care of herself, not to mention that Israel has said they will destroy any facility in Iran that is creating nukes as well.
The issue is not about whether Iran can have nukes or not. The issue is, OUR foreign policy has encouraged other countries to seek them out because they feel threatened by us along with the global bullies as well.
We have been screwing around and nation building since WWII now and all we have gotten for it is trillions of dollars spent and even more people pissed off at us.
Our global policies are nothing more than, " If you don't do what we say, we will finance a coup, sanction you, finance your enemy,or just plain old invade you and occupy you county". This policy leads nothing more that the arming of nuclear weapons.
This was posted on another board and it is so well written that I'm not going to even change it:
Then let's do it right.
Nuke them. IF they truly are that much of a absolute, legitimate threat, then let's park a boomer in the Gulf there, and turn the entire nation, from border to border, into a glowing green piece of radioactive glass that will be uninhabitable for the next 10,000 years.
Then let's tell the rest of the world that the US is done with messing around with those who are a threat to us, and that THIS is the fate of ANY nation who threatens us, or who harbors those who do within their borders. No "if"s, no "but"s; just BOOOOOM!!!! And That will be that...
If they REALLY are the threat you proclaim them, then the current approach is not working at preventing them from getting nukes eventually. If they cannot build their own, someone else (China?) is going to eventually sell them some. If they pose a mortal danger to the US by their statements of our destruction, then it should be our natural right to defend ourselves by exterminating them and removing that threat. Plus; it will get the attention of the world in a manner that will make the REST of our enemies take pause before doing the same, and receiving the same destiny.
Think that's too "extreme"? As opposed to what? Bleeding out our blood and treasure fighting limited politically correct "wars" that have no definable victory save for someone's declaration that "terror is now defeated!" so only then can we declare victory and come home- or just relocate to the next "police action"? My dad fought in Korea in 51. I heard enough about it to know what we will be facing if we go toe-to-toe with the Red Chinese, and that IS where we are heading at our current path. The Chinese military knows it too, and have made extensive plans on how to fight us. They PRESUME that we will eventually back down and keep it conventional, and since THEY are now the industrialized nation that we ONCE were, this time THEY will be the ones out-building US and outlasting us to eventual defeat despite all our technology. The Nazis had technology on their side, too. But eventually, they lost to volume of men and materials. There's a lesson there, regardless of whether or not the communists in DC want to admit it.
Ron Paul's approach is that we allow each nation to rule itself within its own borders, to fight its own wars, and those who wish to trade- by their OWN free will, CHOOSE to want to do business with us, can. The rest of the intervention is not a matter of replaying the Domino Theory. In case you haven't noticed, the dominoes already fell over, all the way to the White House. If we feel the need to liberate anyone, let's start with liberating the American people from the shackles of a federal government that bears little resemblance to that which the US Constitution allowed for. Before we worry too much over securing Israel's borders, we first need to secure our own at home. Before we try to pacify Islam overseas, we need to address it in our own nation by restricting Sharia law from creeping into our legal codes or its adherents trying to push for restricting the freedoms of everyone else who chooses NOT to follow their religion. We need to address the oppressive taxation and hyper-regulation that is crushing our economy at home and driving jobs overseas while dumping their products into our markets. We need to chain down the unaccountable Leviathan that has become our federal government. We need to restore the concepts of personal rights and freedoms, of accountability, and of liberty by dismantling the police state legal apparatus of the PATRIOT act I & II, the DHS, the TSA, and any other agency that rationalizes its next quarter's budget by defining new "terrorists" like the Tea Party and returning military veterans, and then moving to demonize them in hopes of keeping the rest of the growing anger in the rest of the nation from becoming too focused on the REAL cause- THEM. We need to drop the notion of "protected classes" by race, religion, gender, and any other definition, and let EVERYONE compete from the start on their own individual merits or faults. We need to reboot our financial system including our money, and take the nation's economic future out of the hands of a private, shadowy organization and go back to a monetary system based upon SOME tangible form of objective wealth that is recognized around the world as having real value instead of promises of "full faith" and "credit" of the federal reserve system and those who control it.
Until we decide to elect someone who will even start to tackle any of the above, then we face FAR graver threats to our nation's future than the mullahs in Tehran.
If you guys really want to stop Iran then we will have to invade them. If we invade them, it will be the end of the USA financially speaking. I guess Bankruptcy seems like a better option, Huh??

Quoted for truth. I couldn't have said it any better myself and IMO Paul is the closest to this out of all the options currently available. You can call it throwing away my vote but if enough people 'threw away their vote' this country would be better as a result. If more people 'threw away their vote' last time around then more would be willing to 'throw away their vote' this time around. It has to start somewhere and if people keep voting for someone who doesn't fit what this country needs then we will just keep voting for the same slow suffocating death.

Ive got to admit that up until recently(like two days ago) I let the media shape my opinion of Ron Paul but after some research of my own and actually listening to what he has to say I think the guy might actually be onto something.
I think his view on foreign policy is pretty radical but maybe thats what this country needs.

Exactly! and it should really go to show that the media (obviously the left, but also the small right) purposely ignore these things. The establishment is thier friend. If you truly enjoy freedom (you know the real thing not the one from politicians speeches) and personal liberty (again real personal liberty) than Ron Paul is your guy. Further unlike the other rep candidates he has never changed in all his years, his record is unimpeachable, Hell they couldnt find one thing to get him on when the media did there little "fact check" and they dont like that. True conviction and honesty are not what a "politician" is supposed to be about and they hate it.
