View Full Version : Kel-Tec PMR 30 owners
I just wanted to see what people think of there PMR 30.
I haven't shot mine a great deal,(200 rounds or so) but so far, it has performed flawlessly. I just shot misc. targets like cans and a 4x4x4 inch aluminum cube. I'll put it on paper the next time I get to go out.
Stay safe,
Dave

Dave I got mine used and it had 2000 rounds through it I have put at least 5000 if not more most likely more I love the gun, I would trust it as a self deffence gun.

Been wanting one of these, but they seem to be pretty scarce. The few that I have seen for sale have been well over and in some cases double of the online dealers prices, but they are always out of stock.
Guess I will wait until there are a bunch available and interest in them has dropped off. I am not going to take it in the backside like I did for the P-238 !!! [LOL]

Yes they will take the mustang mag, but some of the manufactures mustang mags will cause the P-238 to fail to lock the slide open after the last round.
The problem is the shape of the follower.

Back on topic, are any of you PMR owners having problems with certain types of ammo ?

The problem is the shape of the follower.I spoke with the people at Kel-Tec it will be awhile before you see them on the shelf maybe never, I bought mine for 500 used I just put up an add on Armslist wtb PMR30 and 2 weeks later I had one. It has at least 7000 rounds through it and the onlything I had to do is put in a new firing pin, Kel-tec customer service is amazing. I want the RMR30 that should be out next year and I think the KSG is out now just a long waiting list, I did not get a chance to get one like I got my TCM.

And you mention two more on my want list and own one of them ! How is the ammo availability on the TCM?
And you mention two more on my want list and own one of them ! How is the ammo availability on the TCM? Just call and they send it to you, like Fred was telling me it is the same company that makes the gun and ammo there will always be ammo, I was trying to talk a guy into the TCM on the FN 5.7 opinion post Fred has select grade versions of the TCM that will never hit the shelf that is what I have, they have a different serial number and you can get it for 750. It is basicly a micromag the only difference is the micromag has an external extractor
Back on topic, are any of you PMR owners having problems with certain types of ammo ?I dont that thing will ajust to anything I shoot Winchester Dyna Point and I go through about 500 rounds before I have to clean it cause that stuff is so dirty.

I too would like a PMR, but hard to pay so much for a gun designed for such cheap production, I have owned half a dozen Grendel P30's, and still like them, despite a few minor flaws. possibly one of either will come my way at a decent price!
Why isn't this posted in the Kel-tec PM30 forum?

the heading says KelTec PMR30 Owners
I love mine as well. I havent had an issue with mine.
How much is too much for one of these? I know MSRP is like $350ish
But I found one NIB in FDE for closer to $700... and while I want one, I dont know if I can justify that kind of mark up...

Never seen an FDE one. That's a good price if it comes with extra mags, too.

I can't imagine a better hiking/camelback gun. VERY lightweight to add to the camelback and have 90 rounds of .22 mag. Mine doesn't like CCI Maxi mags at all, but loves any Winchester I have shot through it. Very accurate with Hornady CD as well. My takedown pin did break after around 200 rounds, so I ordered a couple extras.
Very cool gun, but I think the prices people are asking for them are ridiculous. I paid $350 for mine. If I paid $700 I would be pissed about the take down pin and the fact that it keyholes CCI ammo...
Gah.... I'm upset I can't find one of these for under $5-600... http://www.armslist.com/posts/1361914/colorado-handguns-for-sale--kel-tec-pmr---30-combo
Anyone know where to buy or am I boned?

$500 is actually a deal. They have been up here for $800 and I think some wacko was asking $1300.
I imagine with legislation going into effect soon, they are now priceless.
Last weekend a guy up in loveland on a very snowy day put one on arms list for 700 bucks, I sent him a polite reply and told him if he doesn't sell it for his 700 that I have 600 cash in my pocket, he called me within 20 minutes and told me he would take it as he was leaving for vacation with his wife and needed some dough but i had to drive up there that day. It was a miserable ride but i got it and it was next to new, he put about 80 rounds or so through it. Looks like it was bought 1 month earlier as it had a tag on it when it got in the ffl. Can't wait to take it out and shoot it, hard to find ammo for it. found 1 place but you can only buy 1 box per day there so have been in there every day for the last 4 or 5 days and will keep going back until I have enough for a good day out in the woods. Hope it shoots well and is reliable with out all the jams some of them seem to come with. I do like the feel of it.
