Its a nice gun, it holds bullets and has a grip. I would like $2875 for it. I will post pics later but you get the idea.

Look familiar? This is what some of the ads have looked like lately. I mean, if you dont want to sell your item then the above description is perfect for you. If you are interested in selling then you might want to add as much information as possible, AND ADD PICS TO YOUR THREAD. I personally wont even look at an ad if there are no pics.

Moral of the story, the more info and description the better and the more photos you can add the better.

I though you lost your mind or had your account hacked. The only thing worse than no picture is file photos or stock photos.

When I see..."pics to big to upload" I usually contact the seller and try and post their pics for them. It's annoying but I don't mind helping people out!

Let me help you out with the picture:

I agree with the principle of your post, but there are times that people will post something that they don't have with them at the time of the post, and they can't post pictures when they create the post. I'm fine with this, as long as they do get the pictures posted at the first chance. If there isn't an image of the item, and I'm interested, I may reply with something along the lines of "if you're item appears as described" when contacting the seller. It all depends on the item as to whether or not I will look at the post without pictures, or with only a stock image. All that being said, it's always a good idea to provide as much information as possible (including pictures) whenever you post an item for sale.

PS - I'd buy your gun, but I already have one just like it, and I bought mine new for hundreds less. Your price is way out of line! (I always like that post too)

And..... when taking pics, pull the slide back and lock it and take a picture of the barrel. Then invert it and take a picture of the mag well and all the magazines. Document every blemish.

What blemishes ? It is new in Box, not the original box and only 6000 hot loads thru it. And textured when it fell off my bumper at 60 mph and tacticooled by Bubba while he finished a bottle of Wild Turkey.

Amen Leif!

The one that got me lately was in the non firearms section a week or so ago. A Noob was wanting to trade a 55" projection TV and some other stuff for a..............................gun.
Really?
Trade a TV that people will almost pay you to take on CL for a.................................gun.
Think maybe sharing what type of .........................gun........... you are looking for might be of assistance?

Since a picture is really needed, here are three that can hopefully be restored with just a tiny bit of TLC. I value them at about $2 more than your $2875 gun. Wanna swap?? [Tooth]
No B.O.S. necessary! Not sure of the make/model of these but they are highly desirable.

Hey Blaster- I can DuraCoat those and put some Tapco furniture on em! Clean em up real cherry and it looks like they are "low round count" to boot!
Should be worth at least 2K each!

Curious to know why the add doesn't get deleted when the gun is sold? It would make things a whole lot less confusing, instead of scrolling through several sold threads/postings to find one for sale.

Dang but that does sound very interesting. Oops, on second thought, I'd probably better pass that generous offer as it "MIGHT" not be too cost effective for me. Thanks anyhow.[Tooth][Tooth]

[LOL]Yeah, probably owned and well used by those folks down in the swamps. Guess they used them in their present condition to beat the shit out of those gators so that's why they got all the finish worn off and are so rusty.

For the most part we try and lock threads after an item has sold. The problem is the OP puts SPF and never updates it as SOLD.

Because you know the shitstorm the members would raise if we locked a SPF thread and the buyer backs out. [Coffee] The F&%$#, S*&$! POS NAZI MODS CLOSED MY THREAD AND IT HAS NOT SOLD. F&^%$ THIS PLACE and on and on and on.

Locking the thread means it will not return 3 years later when someone asks "Has it sold yet" or "Is this item still for sale?" by someone doing a search.

So help us out gang and say the item has sold and one of us will take care of it. :)

We (the Mod / Admin team) have been trying to keep the Trading Post forums pruned back to just threads from the past 60 - 90 days.

While we close the threads, we typically maintain SOLD/TRADED threads instead of deleting them to help others get an idea of what an item sold/traded for. This helps folks identify what the current market value of things tends to be running.

Now, if a seller/trader wishes to delete their own thread, that's fine - I'll just mark it as "Deleted by OP" and move along.

ETA: See, here I go again. If I had read the entire thread before posting I would have seen that Jerry already addressed this - much more eloquently than I did too!
