so your credit rating goes in the shitter due to loss of job, injury etc. Yet state and city credit ratings take a crap and the justice dept starts an investigation!! WTF

I'm under the impression that this investigation was started because Standard & Poore gave excellent ratings to mortgage companies that folded almost immediately.

I got rid of one of the misidentity resolved around 2008.
I guess someone who has similar name had a case and lost in Los Angeles.

THis week, I checked the experian. IT STILL HAS THAT other guy's case (judgement) on my credit report.

Mid 700's?

Living within your means does wonderful things for you.

Perhaps our legislators can put this into practice?

i hear you the spouse has a 790 and i a 780. we finance (if needed) based on having only one income. It is amazing when you are told " you can afford a $4-600 per month payment". why pay more for something than it cost for a mortage payment??

I wouldn't be surprised if it's retaliation for the government's credit rating downgrade. Kinda reminds me how congress questioned Toyota when they had a bunch of recalls, but has yet to question GM on any recalls (but I'm sure that has nothing to do with who owns GM or the fact that Toyata builds in non union states)...
