I was looking at the pro pick trigger kit by lone wolf distributors to replace the trigger in my glock 17. Heres a link to the product. http://www.lonewolfdist.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=156085
For 45 bucks it seems like a good deal. Should I jump on it?

Wolfe competition spring kit is about $8.
Basic glock 3.5pm disconnector is about$15.
Overtravel stop isn't really necessary for a nice trigger. Some like it , but most do just fine without it.
This kit with a polish job is going to result in about a 2.0 to 2.5 lb trigger pull. If you are going to use it in USPSA, that's about what they all end up around. I would go to a 13 lb recoil spring too in this set up.
If you are just making the trigger nice, what I would recommend is do the polish, change the connector, leave everything else. You end up with a nice 3.5 to 4.0 lb trigger thats smooth and not running the edge of spring weights limits. It will still light off all primers and have function more reliably with hotter loads. The set up above is more inclined towards competition and with the light striker spring, you I'll have fits lighting off any primers other than Federal small pistol and Win small pistol primers.
So far, I still prefer the glock 3.5 lb connector over the aftermarkets. It requires more polishing, but has much better feedback during reset than the aftermarkets. Thats more important IMO than a couple of ounces of weight.
I've done a couple (dozen) mods to Glock's triggers. I've done some rather aggressive internal remodels for competition guns. My carry guns have the standard weight connector and a polish job. Done.

The gun I am going to install the mods on is a former PD carry gun, so the pull weighs in at I think 7-8 pounds.
I'm looking for something that will reduce the weight significantly enough to make it suitable for competiton use, but will still ignite factory ammo just fine.
Do you think the second option you described would be suitable?
i went to bravo arms they installed a wolff spring kit and ghost 3.5 pound trigger it s amazing at what a difference it has made.....no problems with tula steel cased ammo so im assuming it would chew up everything else just fine
