Country is in the shitter, people are losing their homes, can't feed their kids and asshole flaunts another vacation in their face.

He is no better than the CEO's he scolded awhile back.

I've decided that I couldn't care less if a president or a CEO goes on vacation. He could never come back and we'd all be just fine. Same as a CEO.

I gotta wonder how much this little adventure is costing us, though...[Rant1]

I have to wonder if he uses his own money for stuff like this. He does get around $200,000 a year right? If he is using his own money, I don't care what he spends it on, to a point.

It amazes me that you never take the opportunity to keep your mouth shut. Simply amazes me. Holy dumbass Batman.

I'm sure he is paying for Air Force One and all the securtity and everything else out of his own pocket.[ROFL1]

All those people are going to be surrounding him 100% of his time in office, so it is completely a moot point. That is their job. Does it cost more if he is on a golf course or a toilet? You think when he's at the White House, that all the security up and leaves?

Effective January 1, 2001, the annual salary of the president of the United States was increased to $400,000 per year, including a $50,000 expense allowance.

What is the difference between him and any other politician? Seems like the same old issue. Get the money out of politics.

presidents back in the day used to pay for almost everything themselves. no there is no chance in hell they could afford it unless they were all Buffet/Gates.

now he couldn't even afford 2 of his czars, let alone his security detail, fuel costs, air force one, other transportation, extravagant meals etc.

I heard BO took a separate Jet than Mrs. BO just hours apart from the White House. Double the cost. "Let them all eat cake!"

Yup-We get to pick up the tab for the wookies own transportation as well.
Maybe she couldn't stand to be in the same plane.

The arrogance and elitism of this potus is beyond comprehension. As MtnMan pointed out we are all struggling to make ends meet, over 40 million on food stamps and let's not kid ourselves-the real unemployment numbers are hovering in the 15% range.
BarryO had a real chance here to symbolically bond with the people of the nation if he had postponed or cancelled his trip to the Vineyard. Lead by example, shared sacrifices right?
Riiiight!
I am convinced this guy is an absolute Contrare. He will do the exact opposite of what he says. I know, all pollytickins do to a degree but this asshat takes the cake.
Children typically don't respond well to "Don't do as I do-do as I say". Adults respond even less to this approach and all it does is breed division and animosity for their leadership.
Let's hope a year from now we all remember this.

Let me start by saying I'm no fan of Obama....

BUT, is he really on a vacation like we think of a vacation? I think not. I think the office of the president follows them where ever he/they go. I don't think he or any president leaves "work" in DC when they go on vacation.

I don't see complaints when the president is off on the weekend or comments that he's working the weekend...

When most of us go home from work, we go home from work. The work stays there. We rarely bring our work home with us. The majority of us get the weekends off or some number of days a week, we don't get awoken in the middle of the night with some crisis...

Regardless of the job he's doing he's human like the rest of us. We all need a break from our daily surroundings.

Really?
How many of us go on vacations when our finances are a disaster?
None.
How many of us take work home with us?
Lots.
How many of us are subect to being on call 24/7?
Lots.

Human or not I have no empathy for his position or his "in your face " elitism and arrogance.

Let them eat cake,

Seriously though what if everyone just sent him 10 bucks, do you think we could just pay him to quit?

Mr. President, i mean mr moron, we the people are offering you $3,000,000,000 to just go away. Oh and take the dog with you.

I can't think of a better investment in our future.

Stuving, there are huge additional costs when a Prez steps out of his normal operational zone. This article covers some of them:

http://www.usnews.com/news/blogs/washington-whispers/2011/08/11/obamas-vineyard-vacation-will-cost-taxpayers-millions

And I don't know of any other jobs that will give you 45 days of all expense paid vacation each year, after only 2 years on the job.

That's all part of being President, no matter who it is. Perhaps we should just go without Presidents altogether.
