Well, finaly finished the Polish Underfolder. I think it turned out SWEEEEET! i will give a range report when I get a chance to shoot it. Below are the build details, as well as where I purchased the parts

NoDak Spud NDS-1P receiver (NoDak Spud)
Matching #'s Polish Underfolder Parts Kit (AK-Builder.com)
AK Builder Rivit Kit (AK-Builder.com)
US Chrome Lined Barrel (AK-Builder.com)
US Stainless Steel Piston (AK-Builder.com)
Jard 3# Trigger (Brownells)
Hogue FDE Grip (Brownells)
Midwest Industries AK US Palm Handguard (Primary Arms)
Primary Arms Micro Red Dot Sight (Primary Arms)

I assembled everything, then checked headspace, and function, only to take it apart again to be bead blasted. While I had it back apart, I made an extended thumb latch and welded it to the mag release. After bead blasting, I parkerized everthing, just to ensure it won't rust. Once again into the blast cabinet with low(25#) pressure, just to prepare the surfaces for duracoating, without removing the parkerizing. I then duracotaed, and baked all the parts matt black twice, except for the safety lever, carrier, trigger pins, slant break, and handguard. They all got 2 coats of FDE duracoat.

What you see is the finished product. Next build is a Romy G already have a parts kit on the way, and a couple receivers in the safe. I think i'll keep the next one wood funiture, but will do it in a green laminate.

Let me know what you guys think,
Mike

Man Mike, that came out clean! Let me know how that optic does for you. I've been looking for a good way to mount an optic that will actually hold zero. Sweet job man.

Thx guys, gonna have to remove a little metal on the side rails of the handguard, when folded the stock won't lock up tight unless you force it against the handguard. I remove a littl of the rail, fill it with some Devcon, and sand and finsh it with Duracoat again. You shouln't be able to tell it wasn't factory when I'm done.

Scott, I will give a range report next weekend, and let you know how the sight worked out.

Not to bad if you have a blast cabinet, air compressor and an old oven. About a full days work.

Alright here is an update. I fixed the MI handguard to work with the underfolder, so it will lock up tight without having to force it. Took some metal out (as you see in pic) and filled area with Devcon. Then sanded and formed the shape I wanted and refinished again in FDE Duracoat. I also added some ladder rail covers for comfort. Took it out and shot it, functions flawless, and I really like the way the Primary Arms Micro-dot co-witnesses with the sights. The JARD 3# trigger really makes it fun to shoot, and fast follow up shots.

It was a kit build, and I used a NoDak Receiver.
