We've put together a great cadre of instructors to teach practical/field long-range shooting to competition shooters, military, law-enforcement, hunters, etc.

Please take a look at our training group information http://thunderbeastarms.com/training/

We have upcoming classes in Raton NM, Logan NM (Steel Safari site), and Elkton OR (it's a lot of hours in the truck, let me tell ya...)

#205 17-18 SEPT 2011 Practical Field Shooting Workshop, also a good opportunity to train-up for Steel Safari

#101-201 2-4 SEPT 2011 Accelerated #101-#201 series, shooting in the back-country at NRAWC, and then we'll culminate with the Sporting Rifle Match on Sunday under the direction of one of your instructors

We also have some dates in Elkton but you can find those if you're migrating west..

thanks
Zak

Here are some photos from our recent class at NRAWC

This class went extremely well, and our shooters saw great improvements over the course of the weekend. The majority of the students shot at least 40 in the match on Sunday. Although this isn't an ELR course, we had a lot of students hit targets at 1100+ yards, with the furthest at 1680. The emphasis of PFR2 is hitting long-range targets from field positions, including a lot of non-prone shooting. So we ran the course in the back country:

Do you recommend carrying a couple of different bipods for these classes and/or matches? For instance, a Stoney Point prone AND sitting length bipod?

A class is a good opportunity to try out different combinations of gear to figure out what will actually work for you, and get instruction on how to best use the different items.

I use a regular prone style bipod (AI) and a set of the Stoney Point shooting sticks. Those don't weigh very much but can get you a lot more stability and are quick to deploy/use.

I attended this class, and it was great! The blend of experience here was outstanding. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to start shooting long range or just improve at it.

Folks, these guys can not only shoot, but are great teachers!

I've shot with Ray, Zak, and know Cody, Shane, and Jimmy.

Have no doubt's about their creds or their capabilities they are the real deal.

I agree Dave! Not only can they shoot, but they are great teachers. The different backgrounds of all the instructors made the class awesome. They all brought something different to the table.
