[ROFL1] I want something like this for the zombie apocalypse:
http://dodgone.files.wordpress.com/2009/04/mrap_cat_1_navistar1.jpg
Locks from the inside, mine-resistant, can be mounted with a CROW (Remote operated weapons) system, and holds 9 people!

I wish I could just park this in my driveway for a few days just to see the look on my neighbors. "What the f%#$ (f@#$) is he doing now!"

Eh, All those are pretty cool, but I'll stick to my own. I can get to places you couldn't even imagine getting in those tanks.

I'm pretty sure I asked you about this before, but what kind of axles are under there? And lockers, any gear reductions? What do you figure that thing set you back, price wise? Love the look of the JK's
H.
Needs a ratrax rear bumper with swing out and removable carry rack.

Stock axles for now until I break them, 30 up front, 44 in the rear. Front has a detroit, open rear for now, ARBs in the future when I upgrade to 60s. Running 5.13 gears.
As far as price, I bought the Jeep when Chryslerwas having their bankrupcy fire sale in 09, picked it up out the door for less than $20. I think I have another 6-8 in it on top of that so far. I have done a lot that can't be seen in the picture.

I've got a swing out bumper, I don't keep the swing out on it unless I'm wheelin though, much easier that way. The sidewalls on those tires are so tough and the Jeep is so light that unless there is a gaping hole in the tire, I'm able to get to somewhere for repair. Hell I had a nail in my right front for god knows how long, just noticed it when handling changed a bit the other day. Tire had 7psi in it and couldn't even tell by looking at it.
Looked at the Ratrax site, interesting stuff. If you need a JK to "test things" for you, just let me know. I beat the holy living crap out of this thing every chance I get.
Cool will do, Hey TrueTrac (http://www.eaton.com/EatonCom/ProductsServices/PerformanceProducts/Products/Differentials/DetroitTruetrac/ ) is alot better than ARB's we know we literally tear the shit outa stuff.

Ya, but the ARBs are selectable, and I only have one vehicle at the moment. I don't wanna be locked in the rear and driving on pavement all the time. The front locker is a detroit/eaton tru-trac. Looking back though, I should have gone with the full on Detroit.

No truetracs only lock in when you either start losing traction or apply a little brake.
All of ours have fully locked rears and trutracs in the front.
A friend does have a truetrac in the rear and has had no problems.

I'd love to see more data/info/photos of Mtn.man's old truck
Looks like a 1940 Ford, but what chassis is it on? Did they make a 4x4 back then? Still got a flathead in it?

It's on an IH chassis. FOR SALE will get better pics this week we are fine tuning it for the Denver West show along with the 29, and a couple bikes.
About 8 gallons per mile
So, in other words, better than my 70 Powerwagon...[LOL]
