That is the 41 setup correct? I just realized that is a 43 set up. Make sure that it is as far forward as possible. My Fal started with the 43 setup. It was just a tic too far away with the magwell adapter to run more than 50% Once I switched to the 41 mags with the cage removed it starting running very well.
I am aware that this has been done on some AK's but I do not remember what mag they were using. If all else fails 41 mags can be made to work in a 43 magwell. :)
[WooHoo] A thread for 7.62x25. [WooHoo]
That's all I got. :D

I hate to say most of the parts to build one like it are no longer out there.
The upper receiver is a WAC and is aluminum. The lower is a DSA lightweight along with their aluminum top cover. The magwell adapter, barrel and bolt came from Vern of HPF gunsmithing in Utah. I do not know if he is still around since he had some serious issues with his eyes 6 years ago.
The WAC aluminum receiver was made for .308 and they promptly were destroyed by the design of the Fal. Many were bought and then put away. They show up on the Falfiles and Gunbroker now and then for $200-$300.
It was set up at first for PPS43 mags. This caused issues for 4-5 years. I then switched it to modded PPS41 mags and it is a happy camper. It still has it's moments but is a blast to shoot.
I guess I spent about $800 back in 2004 when I did it. It only cost $350 or so to build a .308 Fal back then. I did this just because. The parts were available and Vern had just come out (along with Rihnelander) some magewell adapters to turn the cheap Fal kits into other things.
Back then we built them in almost everything. .308, .243, .223, 7.62X39, 50 Beowulf, 458 socom, 45acp, 9mm, 38 super, and 7.62X25.
I have shot it out to 200 yards and it stays in the black. It rings a 8" gong at 100 all day long.
That's awesome Jerry. I saw a pic over on UziTalk that looked just like yours. Wasnt you was it? There cant be many of those lurking around..

i kind of forgot about this thread, started tinkering with my blowback ak now that 7.62x25 is again on the market. i think mine is going to feed fine with the 43 mags though my mags are as far forward as possible with a factory feed ramp in my front trunnion, i also pressed the barrel back a touch so the bullets have a shorter distance to the chamber. i just need to finish modding the pps-43 bolt and weld it into an akm carrier, rivet the trunnions into my receiver then lots of function testing :)

Not me but it could be mine. Out of the 3-4 that are out there Mine is the only one that is on a WAC receiver. I get the odd email now and then telling me of seeing the gun somewhere and someone wanting one.
That thing is damn near famous. It does have one thing going for it. Unless someone has done something in the last couple of years it is the lightest FAL out there. As in the pic it is just under 6lbs.

Of all my pistols I really love this one. Too bad about the Polish 7.62x25 drying up.
